Community involvement is an integral part of the culture at Garibaldi Veterinary Hospital. Our team regularly participates in initiatives in Squamish, and in the larger veterinary community. For 19 years, the Dr. Tom Honey / Garibaldi Veterinary Hospital Award is an annual bursary given to the student who achieves the highest proficiency in Life Sciences and in extracurricular activities at Howe Sound Secondary School in Squamish.

Unfortunately our pets cannot talk, so we rely on clinical signs, a physical exam, and in some cases, diagnostic tests, for early detection and successful treatment of serious diseases.The annual wellness exam is also an excellent opportunity to discuss questions you may have about your pet's diet or behaviour.

Proper teeth cleaning requires complete cooperation of the patient so plaque and tartar can be removed properly. Anesthesia is required to thoroughly clean the teeth. Although anesthesia always carries a degree of risk, the modern anesthetic protocols used in our hospital minimize this risk, even for older pets.

I 100% trust Dr Honey and his team with my dogs. I know they are in good hands whenever they need to go in, whether for a quick visit or for a surgery or procedure. It's clear that all of the staff are animal lovers and do their very best to make sure my boys are comfortable and safe. Highly recommended!

Same day appointment when I called concerned for my dog. All staff are amazing and was fortunate to have Dr. Honey look at Milly. Always feel like my dogs have received the best level of care from Garibaldi Vet. They are alway very considerate of my feelings as well.
Highly recommend them, no matter what Vet tech or Vet takes care of your pet (you can ask for a specific one too if that is what you like) you receive exceptional and considerate care.

Squamish friends. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!!!! Doctor Honey did a procedure on Hurk and didn't tie something properly on Hurk's insides before he sewed him up so he almost killed Hurk. He has been at the emergency vet for 2 nights to fix what doctor honey did to him. He is the worst vet ever. When we took Hurk back to him to show him what happened he said his office was closing in couple of hours and he wanted to get off on time. Hurk was trembling in pain and doctor honey wouldn't do anything to help.

Having been a client for many years it's disheartening to read the poor reviews. I have always had exceptional and compassionate care from Dr. Honey and all his staff. I have always left with a clear understanding of my options and never been pressured into any one option over the other. Good veterinary care is expensive, that is consistent with all veterinarian practices. From time to time an appointment may be a bit late or delayed, but in fairness emergency triage is most important. As a pet owner I will always patiently wait for another pet owners emergency.

This So- called Doctor Honey has earned the name of Dr. Money and rightfully so!! This place is a disgrace and only care about money and to find ways to cheat you for it!! We spent thousands of dollars because they kept on giving the wrong info to us and keep charging us for tests and things we did not even ask for and NEVER authorized - I wish we read all the reviews before taking our dog there and this keeps on happening this guy lies to your face and then does not even reply to communications asking for explanation or refunds!! PLEASE read the reviews this is not a one off, this guy has a license

Was recommended by friend had a terrible experience, complete disconnect between reception and back of house. Sold me on a bunch of tests that i felt were unnecessary, kept a 10 week old puppy in a kennel for 8 hours. I waited in the parking lot as agreed upon at time of booking appointment, I talk to reception 2 hours later and they were "behind" I question it further and turns out "behind" meant the vet hadnt made it in yet that day.
Waited for another 2 hours at the end of the day for a phone call after the vet said he would call me back in a "couple minutes".

I volly for the Squamish SPCA. Dr. Honey had a very badly injured dog brought in and made the decision to involve the SPCA to ensure the dog would not be returned to the abusive owner, as he should have, but not a lot of vets would do this. I can not say enough about this man’s character, professionalism and compassion for doing this, he probably saved the dog’s life. The dog survived and was adopted to a wonderful couple. Over the years l have known many people who criticize vets who recommend tests to see what could be going on with their pet before they recommend a course of treatment. This

My cat escaped and was attacked by a coyote, he was badly hurt and needed emergency treatment. I tried 2 other vet's that wouldn't even give the option for emergency treatment. I called Garibaldi Veterinary Hospital and they took him in immediately. This was right before 5pm as well. They kept him over night on oxygen and IV and stabilized him. If they hadn't taken him when they did, my cat wouldn't have survived the night. Dr. Honey and his staff gave me frequent updates on his condition, which kept me at ease during the whole process. I am a cat daddy, and I thought I was going to loose my old girl to pancreatitis last Fall. She was in the hospital for 3 days. The staff at Garibaldi were giving me daily updates.
