Hearing loss affects a large number of people around the world. And it affects them in a variety of ways. Over time, hearing loss can influence your communication and relation with others in a negative way. So by leaving hearing impairment untreated, a physical condition may also become a psychological one.
Hearing loss is a partial or total inability to Hear, Hearing loss may be present at birth or acquired at any time afterwards. There are three types of Hearing Loss based upon their characteristics, they are sensorineural hearing loss, conductive hearing loss, and mixed hearing loss.

Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SNHL) is a type of hearing loss in which the root cause lies in the inner ear or sensory organ (cochlea and associated structures) or the vestibulocochlear nerve. It occurs when the inner ear nerves and hair cells are damaged - perhaps due to age, noise damage or something else.
Depending upon the type and intensity of hearing loss, hearing aids are available in different types and styles ranging from Behind The Ear(BTE) to Invisible In The Canal(IIC). Moderate (46 - 65 dB) - conversational speech is hard to hear, especially if there is background noise (such as a television or radio).
A hearing aid is a small electronic device that you wear in or behind your ear. It makes some sounds louder so that a person with hearing loss can listen, communicate, and participate more fully in daily activities. A hearing aid can help people hear more in both quiet and noisy situations. However, only about one out of five people who would benefit from a hearing aid actually uses one.
