Experience Poag Jewellers in Strathroy. James Poag was raised in Ridgetown, Ontario where he apprenticed in watchmaking, clock and jewellery repairs for five years. His growing love for the business brought him to Strathroy at the age of 21 where he established James O. Poag Jewellers Ltd. Initially a small store, the first Poag Jewellers offered a selection of both china and jewellery.
Few things are as exciting as creating a custom piece of jewellery. In fact, when it comes to designing a one-of-a-kind engagement ring, anniversary ring, gemstone necklace, pair of earrings or any piece of custom jewellery, the only limit is your imagination. Your inspiration can come from anywhere - an estate piece, a magazine photo, a detail from a favourite painting, or a mountain peak on a sunny day.

I had an amazing experience at Poag’s Jewelers! I took in my mom’s wedding rings, her diamond heart pendant (an anniversary gift) and my promise ring to make a custom ring to fit with my existing wedding rings. I am over the moon with the quality and beauty of this ring. I worked with Denise who took my ideas and effortlessly mocked up a concept for the jewelry maker. The diamond in the promise ring was an off size, so they embedded it into my engagement ring. I had recently had a watch repaired at poags store ,they had done a great job but I think the watch was past it’s prime although they did their best ….it would not keep time so when I called the store to speak with someone every one was busy…..not uncommon at this store….to my surprise Mr poag returned my call very shortly after ,,,,this is the amazing part not only did they give me back all the money I had spent on repairs they gave me an unbelievable deal on a new watch ,,,,,,,I am so impressed with poags I well not shop anywhere else if you want great customer service please deal with

We have had the pleasure of working with Jeff at Poags for several years now. Just before Christmas I had him work on a custom piece involving the combination of several other pieces of jewelry to make a ring and earings for my wife. I had some very specific requirements in regards to what gems to use but otherwise left it up to them to come up with the concept. The result was absolutely stunning! Thank you to Jim and the staff for all the fantastic work they did in getting the engagement ring rendered, made perfectly, and the fantastic customer service I got throughout the whole process. I appreciated the precautions you have in place for sanitization- that system is very well done and non intrusive. My Fiance is absolutely in love with the ring and can't get any work done from looking at it so often.

From the moment I met Jeff, he made me feel like I was his most valued customer. After the purchase of my ring and the proposal, he continued to treat my, now, wife and I with that same care and dedication. We had a great expierence at Poags! My Grandmother is in a nursing home, and could not wear her wedding band or family ring anymore do to her fingers swelling. I contacted Poags via email in regards to a custom make, and Jim responded right away. He helped us with the whole process of figuring out how to make a necklace with pendant, that would work for my Grandmother, using her rings. There seamed to be no limits with what they could produce. The necklace we designed came out perfect, and looks amazing. AMAZING!! I drove almost 2 hours to Poag's and was worth every minute!
Very caring staff and understanding of all my questions.....and there was a lot. Lol
They were extremely patient with me in choosing a new ring design for older wedding ring sets handed down. I had two wedding ring sets turned into one elegant ring and it is GORGEOUS!
Remained in contact with me through every step, sending computer designs before going ahead with the actual ring design. Very helpful and honest when I was overwhelmed about a couple of designs I was torn between.
No pushy sales tactics to try to get

Poag's has always been my parents go to jewellery store, so when I moved back to the area they were where I went to have a ring designed with stones from rings I no longer wore. Let me say I was not disappointed at all!!! Jeff was amazing and is so talented! He kept me informed through the whole process of my ring being made with emails. I just picked my ring up and I am thrilled!!!! It turned out better than I could have wished for! The service and talent is well worth the visit no matter how far you need to travel! I had purchased an engagement ring from another jeweler. She said yes!!! However, shortly after she started wearing it, we learned she was allergic to the material. Apparently, I didn't think to ask if white gold contained nickel. That jeweler advised me that I was basically "out of luck" and was stuck with a ring, which could not be worn, refunded or traded in. Needless to say

To be clear: no proposal yet!
We both have family diamonds, and have discussed for years that it would be a wonderful idea to combine them and create the perfect custom engagement ring that also symbolizes our families coming together... awwwwwww... so now the time has come... :)
Our appointment was with Mr. James O. Poag himself, and he was absolutely brilliant. It's his family business. He made us feel comfortable instantly, and spent about an hour with us as we did the whole design decision
