Services
It all started in 1997 with a trip down to New Orleans and the Bayou. Inspired by the local cuisine we decided in June of 1999 to open Blue's Bayou Cafe. Numerous visits since to collect decor and ideas, have made Blue's Bayou what it is today. Owner owned and operated, to give you the best service and food.

Good.
Ordered the large Jambalaya. Decent portion size, and reasonable amount of sausage and shrimp for the price. My friend had pecan pie for dessert and really liked it but I thought it was just ok and pretty small for the price.
Good, well prepared food and service but not a standout. Great location in nice weather (was there end September). No complaints but wasn’t wowed. Rated 3 stars but would give it 3.5 if I could.

It's right on the water in a shack that belies its terrific view and a summertime deck that must be amazing. On a cool November midday it was welcoming with hot soup and a fun New Orleans-themed menu. The food was hot, fresh, add tasty. Service was attentive and friendly and everything came quickly. The po-boy of the day (pulled pork and apple) was messy to eat; and that's a good thing! Not accessible due to the steps.

Great food and service! First time at Blue's Bayou after seeing it on the Upside. The food is very good. We had fried green tomatoes, the half rack of ribs and a small Jambalaya. Kari our server was excellent. Unless you have a really big appetite the smaller portions of the half track and Jambalaya are more than enough. Good selection of beer and wine at reasonable prices. Great view of the marina. We will be going back!

The location is nice. The services is excellent. The food was not that great. We ordered the gumbo, it tasted like the soup base was from a can, the rice tasted like that kind of rice that comes out of a package already cooked and there was a bit of chicken and gator meat. We also ordered the mussels. They, on their own, were fresh and tasty yet were drowned in a thick butter sauce without any hint of garlic, wine or saffron as the menu states. The cornbread tasted weird. One bite would be sweet, another bite was super salty as if the batter was not mixed well before cooking. It was overall a disappointment

Love this restaurant. Make a point to go here every time we are in the area. The patio is fabulous overlooking Brentwood Bay and you can watch the ferry come and go. I normally order the jambalaya which always has lots of shrimp. I can get away with the smaller size most of the time. Recommended for when you want authentic Cajun cooking in a casual atmosphere.

We stopped by the town for only one night. Introduced by our BnB host, Blue's Bayou surprised us. We timed it right before sunset so dinner view was amazing. The food quality matches its price. It was pretty chill so the waitress offered blankets, much appreciated. Would definitely bring friends and family here next time!

The atmosphere of this restaurant is awesome, right on the water. We had a large party of 10 with 3 kids. Our waitress was friendly and provided prompt service. The portions were sizable. Meal wise, we had a range of items on the menu, some delicious like the cannelloni and jambalaya, some not so much like the ribs (too dry). The bayou salad is tasty too! Kids meals are a great deal and good sized. If you're looking for a fun spot with outdoor seating, this is a great choice.

The food and service was terrible. We actually cancelled the dinner. After we were served the gumbo and corn chowder which were not seasoned and cooked correctly...and the crab cakes were undercooked...we knew it could only get worse. They also would not move us from the hot sun. We asked a couple times and they refused. The manager asked my husband why we cancelled the dinner order and he told her...the gumbo is not what is served in New Orleans or is their hospitality. The corn chowder did not have any seasoning and the crab cakes were undercooked. All she could say was "we are not New Orleans

The food is hit or miss unfortunately. The service and management is terrible however. I have had multiple bad experiences which is why we don't frequent this place any longer. Portions are often very small and very overpriced. The view from the dinning room/patio is probably the best thing they have going.

Great view. Craft beer was served in ice cold mugs. We had two appetizers. We had the alligator sausage and Fried green tomatoes with shrimp. Both were absolutely perfect. As good as any you will get in New Orleans!!!!!!! We got to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the awesome view. This is a great stop for anyone who visits Butchart Gardens. It is only about 2 miles from the gardens. Service was excellent.
