Services
The community traces its history back to the early 1700s when it was largely settled by Highland Scots who, in the Gaelic language, referred to the area as Chestico. It is natural that the ocean has always played an important part in the life of the community. In early years ships from as far away as Halifax and Prince Edward Island called several times weekly at Port Hood with passengers and freight.

Location is nice and so is the view, but the place was outdated. Tv was the old box and only in the living room. You should bring tissue and paper towel with you as the place only comes with towels and soap, no other toiletries! Also bring your tea bag and sugar with you, nothing available for a short stay.

Sept 2021. Great location and views. Very comfortable with all amenities. We had an issue with the first cabin due to my elderly mother in law but staff moved us to another one immediately, EXCELLENT service. Fantastic trails right in front of the cabins, beautiful surroundings and Port Hood has everything you need including an excellent restaurant and the best ice cream around at the top of the driveway.

My wife and I drove route 19 looking for a future cabin rental for our atv group this fall, we found your great location close to the atv trail in Port Hood, beautiful little cabins overlooking the ocean. I spoke to the friendly lady in the office to aquire four rentals on October 1st and 2nd of 2021 and spoke of our intentions. First thing I encountered, she wasn't sure if they could accommodate us on those dates, then the profiling, "where do you live" "are you party people". Then she says I'll get someone to call you Monday if anything is available, I'm still waiting for that call. After some

We very much enjoyed our star at the Lighthouse Cottages. It was the perfect location for our trail bicycling weekend. The cottage was very comfortable for the two of us, and we made good use of the kitchen and barbque. Fabulous sunset views, and a gorgeous beach just steps away. Staff were friendly and helpful. Colin was incredibly accommodating and gave us suggestions for sightseeing, restaurants and quite a bit of the local history.

Beautiful cottages located on a breathtaking beach. The cottages are a great size with bedrooms and a decent little kitchen for a vacation. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The beach is amazing and some of the best ocean swimming possible due to the warm Northumberland strait water. Lots of little hermit crabs to watch in August!
