CAMH provides a wide range of clinical care services for patients of all ages and families, with Access CAMH as your centralized point of contact. Learn the signs, symptoms, definitions and other important facts about mental illness conditions, disorders, substances, medications and therapies. Many people don't see mental illness in the same way, or even the same category, as other diseases medical science is working hard to find cures for.
But Mental Health is Health. And with every new discovery, CAMH moves closer to treatments that will change the course of mental health forever. Changing attitudes, behaviours and culture is the only way to create a world where Mental Health is Health. A third of Canadians report moderate to severe anxiety over return to pre-pandemic routines.

The mental health movement has never been stronger than it is today. Attitudes are changing, knowledge is evolving, treatments are improving and potential cures are emerging. But just because things are better than they used to be, doesn't mean we're where we need to be. At its most serious, mental illness can be fatal.
We are committed to eliminating differences in health status between groups, and to creating a diverse and inclusive environment. Our policies are intended to ensure that all members of the CAMH community understand the benefits of achieving accessibility for people with disabilities, and know the rights and responsibilities of employees, volunteers, physicians, students, patients and visitors with regard to accessibility and patient service.

**IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR MENTAL HEALTH PLEASE READ** I'm 21 yrs old and have a history of mental health problems going undiagnosed as well as complex developmental trauma. I care about other people's health and some of the people working at CAMH do NOT. I couldn't type a review because my explanation of my experience exceeded the character limit. I organized my experience in screenshots with numbers for order to be more helpful. I try to be the nicest person I can but this situation has gone too far for me to stay quiet about it. Rest in peace to the people who have died under or dismissed from

Close friend I was helping went here and the only emphasis was on more medication than true help for their situation. When they went to an outside psychologist to work on DBT/CBT (dialectic and cognitive therapy) they were shocked at the medication levels CAMH wanted.
I know it's not for everyone; but the friend stopped taking medication completely by gradually weining off; became like themselves again and have been attending consistent therapy to get emotional support. Huge difference in their health and wellness.
I wish these institutions didn't have such a quick jump to prescribe meds. That

SWITCHBOARD is HORRIBLE. Nobody ever knows anything & all they do is transfer you to voicemails. We ask about vaccine clinic hours they state it’s not their job to know. ED registration staff same thing except evening & weekend staff are more knowledgeable and friendly & actually take the time to help you find out before they disconnect. Switchboard staff should take notes from ED registration staff because they’re more knowledgeable than you. Everyone at switchboard is so rude & sounds like they just hate their job, people & life it self, that’s how we felt talking to them each and every

Probably one of the worst experiences of my life. I was both a inpatient and a outpatient. The outpatient social work was the only thing I found beneficial to my mental health but as a 17 year old I was admitted to the mood and anxiety unit for youth. Some of the staff were very loving and caring towards your needs but the ones who weren't were absolutely atrocious. I remember them eating outside food infront of us constantly while we had to eat basically food worse than hospital food. I also remember a child and youth worker telling me I shouldnt be in there because she was comparing me to the

My clinicians are great. In treated fairly. I'm not content with how CAMH has taken... Research on various treatment models as usual, but with its budget as large as it is, the wait times in what limited section and availability of programmes offer, well they're not at all close to one another. I sat on a wait list for over a year(I checked in etc) and then it was cancelled.

I have been a patient at CAMH since Jan 2018. I am grateful for being referred by my family physician as some symptoms were deteriorating over a period of 1 year.
The administrative staff, doctors, social workers, scientists, clinical laboratory specialists, janitors and security people are all pleasant, amazingly empathetic and truly caring. This has been my observation during every visit since I got registered as a client.
My psychiatrist and the group therapy personnel are compassionate, always concerned and resourceful. I am blessed to be a patient at CAMH and receive treatments from amazing

I had the worse experience ever the doctor I had told me to stop taking my meds for my anxiety cause he wanted to put me on a higher dosage. He told me that the closest thing I have with anxiety is generalized anxiety which I could have told him myself he told me that I don't have enough panic attacks to have Generalized anxiety that I need to have one everyday . This is all from the first day, today I go back for a follow up and I had to explain everything to him again of how I was feeling. Not only that but my appointment was at 3pm today so I get there early and the doctor took me in at 3:20pm
