Truth to tell, Pedal & Sea Adventures is a small - but mighty! - company run by one of Nova Scotia's most experienced adventurers. Dana Gallant has been organizing bicycle tours in Atlantic Canada for over 20 years. Dana wanted to share one of the world's best places with travellers in need of a little R&R - riding and relaxation, that is.
Cycle a winding trail through the world-famous Cape Breton Highlands, and experience glorious valleys and panoramic coastlines. Nova Scotia's South Shore Artists and nature lovers have been visiting these shores for years. As you cycle along the coast you will pass by blue herons standing motionless in the shallows, seals bobbing up and down wondering who the curious visitors are, and whales frolicking just off shore.
If you're a cyclist planning a Nova Scotia vacation, but would prefer not to lug a heavy bike around, we're here to help. Pedal & Sea stocks a modern fleet of hybrid & electric bicycles made by the industry's best manufacturers, including Opus and Louis Garneau. Rentals are available by the day or week and we're happy to accommodate last-minute extenstions of bookings as well.

I rode the Cabot Trail on a self-guided tour. Pedal and Sea provided the bike, route maps, made lodging reservations and moved my luggage each day. They also drove me from Halifax to Cape Breton and back. My road bike was a good quality Garneau aluminum road bike, they also have high end carbon bikes and ebikes. I've not taken a guided tour with them.

Pedal and a Sea knows how to do a great bike tour. We have been on the tour of western Ireland in 2018 and the tour of Tuscany in 2019. Both were exceptional. The places we stayed, food we ate, company we shared made each trip memorable. Dana and his team give attention to every detail and take great care of you on their tours. We will keep coming back year after year.

My wife and I recently completed the Cabot Trail on our tandem with Pedal & Sea. The trip was a 10! We really had no idea, but Cape Breton Island is one of the most beautiful, spectacularly scenic places we have ever visited – and we get around. I have photos that you would swear are from tropical islands – the ocean is crystal clear and brilliant blue, all seen from fantastic vantage points along the CTrail. Tim & LInda Edmonton Alberta. We did the guided bike trip in Prince Edward in August 2018. The trip was amazing and we were looked after like royalty. We were fortunate to have a great group of people to share our adventure with. Never having been to PEI before we blown away by how beautiful it was and how amazingly friendly all the people were. The accommodation and food was first class all the way through. Miles and Rich our guides were the best. From the very start they were eager to look after us with anything and made it clear that it was our holiday and we could go at whatever pace we wanted

My experience was wonderful with Pedal & Sea. I completed the Lunenburg Tour as a self guided tour & I could not have been happier the whole week. I was picked up on time, had a chance to see Peggy's Cove on the first day, just a beautiful day that day, got some great photos & videos. The tours were well laid out, directions easy to follow, I never got lost & most of the trips were well within my capabilities as a bike rider. I was able to spend quality time in each location I traveled too, I met some fabulous people along the way & collected some great memories. I can't wait to pick my next trip

Like many, we've had the opportunity to travel extensively so had a cautious level of expectation when we arrived to begin the Pedal and Sea Croatia tour. In addition, I had owned a bicycle shop and needless to say was curious to see what Dana had in store for us for bikes. Well, no need to worry, from the beginning our guides Mario and Stefan were there to look after our every needs, the country proved itself to be spectacular, charming, welcoming and full of history and the bikes were exceptional. What's not to like about a Trek, Shimano Ultegra and compact gearing. The BEST way to see Croatia

Our bike and boat tour of Croatia was...in a word "fabulous!". I really don't think it could have been any better. Pedal and Sea make it easy for us to navigate and experience the islands, countryside and culture allowing us to hit the highlights and optimize our fun. It was the perfect balance of friendship, fitness and adventure. We travelled as four couples but also met new friends on the boat. The biking was a great way of seeing the specatular views and enjoying the weather - and made the meals and relaxation after sweeter still. This trip is a bucket list item for sure!

Had the 'trip of a lifetime' while cycling the islands of Croatia with Pedal and Sea. The guides were top notch - they demonstrated their knowledge and passion for the country, and skillfully accommodated the varying cycling abilities of the riders. The crew was friendly and looked after our food, beverage and 'hotel' needs. Croatia is an exceptionally beautiful country and our cycling routes took us to breath taking vistas and ancient towns steeped in history - all around a feast for the eyes. We cycled The Viking Trail in Newfoundland in July, 2015. We loved many aspects of the tour: the cycling, kayaking, mountain climbing, and sightseeing at a world heritage site. Our accommodations were great, with friendly people, comfortable lodging, and great dining. Our guides were professional, friendly and helpful.
