This is the most adorable little cafe, right off a nice hiking/biking trail. We stopped in for a lunch break in the middle of a hike. The service is so friendly and efficient, and the food was fresh and delicious. Lots of character and history on the inside and outside of the building. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend!

Super glad to find this place after a lot of driving and touring. Quick and easy options inside a bike shop, yeah strange but good for paninis and sandwiches and breakfast options. Even have interesting soups of the day (African Peanut was the choice I had). They also have local NS craft beer. Hard to go wrong here. Easy off the road on the way to Peggy's Cove

This is a trendy cafe with great atmosphere, excellent service and coffee to die for. Always a great place to stop in for a morning coffee and scone, and one of the friendliest locations to stop in with friends to meet for lunch. Highly recommended, and only reason not a 5 star if the menu is a little small, but I do understand their space is limited...so highly recommended.

I have been meaning to go to the Bike and Bean for the last two years. When I first heard about it is sounded like pretty much my dream location. An old train station converted into a cafe along a bike trail. Pretty much a perfect destination for someone who loves bikes and coffee.
Well last week I finally made the trip biking from Halifax to the Bike and Bean. Well it turned out even better then I had envisioned since I heard about it. I arrived by bike and the building is fantastic, a converted train station with bike parking, park benches to have lunch on, two patios to sit and sip coffee and

This is such a special place. It's homey, people are friendly and casually dressed, and it's right on the rails for trails! We like to take bike rides from our home and stop in for a delicious panini style grilled cheese and tortillas, oh and the delicious capachino. This place is on our list of our favorite places!

This place is pretty cool in my opinion. The re-use of old industrial architecture including a train caboose is reason enough for a visit. The interior has been nicely restored and the imaginative use of paint colors makes it very welcoming. They made a good espresso and latte. My sister ate there twice and had good reviews both times. She especially appreciated the GLUTEN FREE wraps and said they were nicely finished on the pannini press.

My wife and I went here to start on a biking trip that lasted half a day. We thought the spot was cool a great idea being right on the bike trail. The iced latte could use a tune up no pun intended being that a bike shop is connected to the coffee shop. They use what seemed to me is whole milk and serve it in a blue plactic cup that reminds me of camping with my parents. So for about the same price as starbucks I am expecting more effort. They need to step away from the 80's plastic cups unless they want to charge 1980's prices.

The best part about Bike and Bean is the location, they've clearly cashed in on the St Margaret's Bay Trial that runs behind it. With lots of outdoor seating, bike racks, bike shop, refreshments and a restroom you can make it a daytrip! We packed a picnic lunch but had iced latte and tapped into their free wifi. The staff was lovely and there was a congenial atmosphere of all the bicyclists enjoying their day; worth the trip!

The Bike & Bean is a welcome stop on the windy St. Margaret's Bay road, and provides a decent option for a snack, coffee or sandwich a ways outside of town. The building has lots of nooks and crannies, giving it some cool appeal, but the real attraction is that it's located on the Rails to Trails system that covers miles and miles of walking/biking trails around the area.
The coffee shop includes a bike rental and repair shop and my guess is the majority of customers are those that arrived by bike. Menu is short and sweet, and the quality of my iced americano was great. Staff seemed

When my boyfriend suggested recently that we take a bike ride, I was reluctant to say the least. I have not been on a bike in probably close to 15 years and balance is not my strong suit. I was sure I would make a complete idiot of myself, and him by association. However, when he suggested we rent from the Bike and Bean, I was intrigued enough by the cute name and premise to take the leap.
I never even knew this place existed (which isn't surprising considering my lack of bike experience), but I am really glad I discovered it. I love that they have taken an old railway station and refurbished

The Bike and Bean, located at the Head of St. Margaret's Bay, is a fine and interesting establishment consisting of a café and bike shop. The building where the business is situated was previously the French Village railroad station. The railway is gone, but in its place is a nice multiuse trail that extends for miles.
The Bike and Bean sells, repairs, and rents bikes. They also make a pretty good cup of coffee as well as other caffeine filled beverages. The food selection is good, but somewhat limited. But that should be expected, given the size of the place.

This is a very unique Cafe/Bike Shop/Outdoor adventure store. It is located in French Village, along the St.Margaret's Bay Road. It is a fabulous place, here you can stop and have a wonderful lunch, or maybe you need to get your bike fixed. It is the only bike shop between Halifax and Lunenburg.
You can rent bikes, take tours, Pedals and Sea Adventures. This is a really unique business and has a wonderful reputation.
The foods will definitely satisfy your taste buds, they even serve wine and beer.
