Doctor Chan graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree integrating human physiology and physics. His undergraduate background provided him with a firm foundation for his optometric education. Dr. Chan is an orthokeratologist and has a passion for specialty contact lens including Ortho-K and rigid gas permeable lenses.
Ortho-K, also known as corneal reshaping therapy, is a specialty contact lens fitting using a rigid gas permeable contact lenses worn overnight to change the corneal curvature, thus modifying the cornea's refractive power.

Although correcting your vision is very important, a comprehensive eye exam does a lot more than that. I trusted chan to do regular eye exams for my kid, however I recently found out how untrustworthy and unprofessionalism he is! During our November visit, he told me that my son needed glasses and gave us a glasses prescription. We ordered glasses from another store, and then shortly after I found out that my son could see better without the glasses. So we went back to Chan for another vision check in December and found out the right eye was off by 1 point, not to mention that the left eye was also off, but by 1 quarter. I don’t see how a 7 year old vision can change that much in less than a month

Got into my appt promptly and went through the process as normal.
Front desk secretaries, although busy, we’re very attentive and helpful with glasses selection, and questions regarding sizing/fitting of eye glasses w/prescription and time I would need to wait for glasses to arrive.
Thorough eye exam, answered all and any concerns eloquently.

Dr Chan is the absolute best! His exams are thorough, and he always explains very clearly what he's doing. He's great with children too. He and his staff recently went above and beyond to make sure my daughter could get her new glasses to see properly despite their office having to close. For that, and the great service that is their usual way of doing things, we'll be customers forever! I would recommend Dr Chan to anyone wanting top-notch eye health care!

I have to say, Dr Chan deserves this 5 out of 5 score!
When I told Dr Chan and his staff that they received a 4.9 score out of 5, they were not even aware... so for sure the excellent reviews are genuine. In all my life I have never had such a thorough eye examination and explanation of all the findings. The reason I saw Dr Chan was for a medical examination of my eyes that is covered by B.C. Medical because the previous optometrist merely gave me a prescription and told me in a couple of years I would need to get my eyes examined further. Hmmm. When I questioned her she just gave me yes or no

Dr. Chan - 5 stars. I’ve never been impressed by an optometrist until now. You can tell he really cares about doing an outstanding job. This will be the only place I go for future eye exams.
Reception staff - 1.5 stars. They were nice, but unfortunately they were all too keen on gossiping with each other instead of being ready and available to assist customers. They seemed to be the types who just want to do the bare minimum. I’ll go shop for a new set of glasses where I don’t feel like I’m inconveniencing the staff by asking questions.

I was looking for an eye clinic in the neighborhood and these guys were recommended to me.
I was pretty happy with my first couple visits. The clinic is very pleasant and bright and staff is polite and welcoming.
Dr. Chan spent quite a bit of time with me, explaining what he was testing and what the results meant, which I appreciated. Not all doctors explain things.
They had a nice selection of frames for glasses and my order came in quickly and with no issues.
I am definitely intending to stay with these guys for a the foreseeable future.

Clean and light floor. Comfortable environment. Employees and the doctor are very nice, friendly, and helpful. MSP accepted (for kids and elder people). Frames and lens available for shopping here. Free parking lot available. Appointment needed. Walmart, Canadian Tire, Costco, A&W, and many shopping and dinning options available nearby. Overall, I would recommend it.

Dr.Chan came highly recommended by a friend for his professionalism and patience dealing with kids. I took my kids in for their eye exam and I was so impressed with how he explained every step and made sure they understood what was happening. I am so happy that I found a great optometrist I can trust and who makes my kids feel comfortable. The staff are also very friendly and helpful :)

Dr. Chan and his staff offer easily the best optometry experience I've ever had. As someone who has been dealing with optometry basically since birth I have quite a bit of experience.
The examinations are incredibly detailed but do not feel like they take up too much of your time. Dr. Chan clearly explains each step and its' importance to your overall health and vision. You feel like you are in good hands with your best interests looked after.
His team has been extremely helpful in scheduling appointments, picking out frames and updating on the status of orders.
