He went to the University of Alberta before transferring to the University of Waterloo, where he received an Honors Undergraduate degree in Science. Dr. Hobson also received a doctorate degree from the University of Waterloo's School of Optometry. In 2012, he became the Lead Optometrist at Family Vision Care where he took over from Dr. Geoff Marsh after his retirement.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Hobson's interests include playing both court and beach volleyball with his wife Jen, hiking with his dogs Kevin and George and boating in the summer months.

Fort Eye Care is exceptional, not only did they take care of our glasses need but they also care about customer service.
We had an issue with our insurance provider and Fort Eye Care worked with us with care and integrity. Thank you so much it was very stressful and you handled it with with grace, efficiency and would not have been handled this way had you been some big box glass store. Amazing! They are so great with my kids, and patient. Dr. Shaw is personable, always full of fun facts, and able to hold the kids attention through the exams, which I appreciate. Kayla is also great with my very shy daughter who's had glasses since she was 2. Overall friendly, welcoming environment. I'd pay a bit more for glasses everyday if it comes with good customer service.

Love all of the staff at Fort Sask Eye Care. They were quick to fit my daughter in for an unexpected eye emergency and so helpful with the follow up appointments. We also fitted her for new glasses and Kelly’s assistance was great in picking the perfect pair. We have been clients for years and have always had excellent service! Highly recommend.

I've been going to Fort Sask Eyecare for many years now. The staff are very friendly, helpful and professional, especially Kelly. She's made some great suggestions and gotten myself out of my normal comfort zone when it comes to frames. I've been bringing our young children to them for regular eye exams and they love the doctors and the staff as they not only make it comfortable for them, but fun as well (the gumball machine filled with treats/toys really helps out, lol). I highly recommend Fort Sask Eyecare!
