2 year wait list to access medical care, ummm maybe hire more therapists or expand your program??? I hope when they personally require medical attention they have to wait 2 years for it.

Therapists always going on vacations. They spend more time making sure you want to stay in the program over actually talking to you about treatment. I had 4 sessions in a row asking if I wanted to stay, which in turn always made me say "not if it's this every session."
Lost group therapy because they switched programs and after constant emailing that the new program doesn't work I get a "best of luck"
Psychiatrist spends 5 minutes with you before giving you medication perscriptions and advantly avoids setting up further appointments with you.
Just seems more of a "numbers" mental health centre

I was treated here for around three months from December 2018 -February 2019 at the age of 24. Judging from the other recent reviews, I can see that perhaps things have changed (for the worse) at this facility.
I was admitted for depression and to receive electroconvulsive therapy. The time from referral to admission was less than one week - incredible.
I stayed in the Neuropsychiatry Service unit, which has had its name changed to Complex General Psychiatry D I believe. I found the ECT treatments extremely effective - although this may have been confounded with the fact that I developed a romantic

I was a teenager that stayed here.
I have to say, I was extremely disappointed.
The staff could often be mean and dismissive, even when a cry for help is made obvious. I've seen multiple fights break out between patients with little attention paid to it.
During code whites, patients were handled aggressively by security members, seeming only to cause further distress amongst residents.
When we were allowed to venture outside the hospital, (walks, trips to malls, etc...) It often seemed little supervision was paid to me and other adolescence during this time, making it seem easy enough to run

I don't have anything else to say than this is an amazing place! I went through postpartum depression and my life was great but I wasn't able to enjoy it. I was diagnosed and I was provided with a treatment that helped me to recover my motivation and will to live. Staff is amazing, really qualified and very understanding. I strongly recommend this place.

Eating disorder unit was constantly understaffed, patients left unintended, locked in day area for hours while nurses dealt with a single patient in the back (multiple times) haven’t been there in a year but the government seriously needs to check it out. Some nurses where great but I heard they all got fired.

The absolute worst. I can’t even access my own files for my diagnosis after a full year of weekly calls and faxing over applications (on my own $) to have my files released. After a year of calls and faxes, I have still not even heard back except for a couple of extremely rude reps telling me to do what I’ve already been doing. They are unprofessional and get absolutely nothing done.

The doctor that conducted my intake/diagnosis was short and demeaning with me. After waiting almost 2 years to get into trauma therapy I’m being told they only offer times for 9am and 11am weekdays while I’m at work. Unsure how this is helpful or accessible to the majority of the population that has jobs but this service is unhelpful and extremely frustrating for those who need help.

It wasn't too good there, speaking only from personal experience.
I was there for about 3-4 months and I only really got worse.
Their means of therapy weren't very effective to me or anyone I knew.
The doctors I had to deal with were rude and seemingly unsympathetic, and the nurses were somewhat the same.
Even with security, it isn't well.
I was allowed in outings, but the security was absolutely awful.
Multiple times, they failed to check in on us and tended to be generally irresponsible.
I didn't like it very much, and personally I think it needs a lot of improvement, but I'm just a biased

Shoutout to nurse Vic for being the only helpful and compassionate nurse on the ED unit. During my stay here myself and many other patients were repeatedly denied bathroom use for no reasons concerning our ED, most staff are snobby, uneducated, lazy and uncaring. I've come out of Ontario Shores only to find myself at the lowest point (both mentally and physically) of my ED. Such a waste of time and suffering.
