Breaking out of depression can be so difficult because depression generates vicious cycles and downward spirals involving a number of aspects of our lives. Once we get stuck in these vicious cycles or pulled into a downward spiral, they're extremely hard to reverse. When we're experiencing depression, we'll tend to have automatic negative thoughts about ourselves, the world and other people.
