At Pumpkin Patch we hold children in high esteem, and we believe strongly that every child not only has a right to participate but also has a contribution to make. Our main focus is on building relationships. We attempt to create an atmosphere of trust, love and caring where children are emotionally connected and part of the bigger community.
We are inclusive of children with all different needs and different learning styles. As children build confidence in themselves they are willing to engage in new activities and become active learners. Through sharing God's love and promoting Christian values the children become very accepting of others and often don't see differences, looking beyond abilities, races and language barriers.

Hamilton Baptist Day Care Centre is a government licensed day care facility which started in 1975. We are an incorporated not for profit centre, governed by a Board of Directors. We are located in two buildings next to each other; 440 Upper Wentworth Street and 450 Inverness Ave. East in Hamilton, ON, in secured access buildings.
We are fortunate to have partnered with the University of Brighton in the U.K. to be the only child care centre in Canada to implement this program. The Working with Others approach recognizes the importance of relationships as key to providing a safe, secure and accessible learning environment for all children.
As a licenced child care centre under of the Ministry of Education, we are committed to being in compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 at all times. In addition to that we have adopted How Does Learning Happen? Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years (2014) as the document to guide and influence our approach to curriculum.
Mount Hamilton Baptist Day Care is a fully integrated child care centre. We believe that every child is unique and all children belong and have a right to participate. The Centre accommodates many children and families with unique needs. The Centre maintains a working relationship with Community Living and Special Needs Resourcing so that the support of a resource teacher can be available where warranted.
Our mission statement states that "Mount Hamilton Baptist Day Care 'Pumpkin Patch' provides a professionally led, child centred program, in a Christian Environment." Hamilton Baptist Day Care Centre aims to create a Christian environment by sharing Christian moral values through stories, songs and prayer with the children and families in our Centre.

I personally felt that my daughter regressed once i enrolled her here, i had to speak to the supervisor more than once about the seemingly irritable disposition of her infant room staff specifically (the older staff) towards the children, i thought their practices in regards to consequences were outdated and ill-practiced. Not to mention i walked into the infant room to see my 2 year old lifted by her one hand, air borne by one of the teachers that i initially thought was one of the kinder ones out of the bunch, this was in 2019. Once i spoke to the supervisor she spoke to the teacher and removed

Great daycare. The staff are so welcoming, my daughter feels right at home. I love receiving updates on what the class is learning and seeing all the fun and interesting activities the teachers in the infant room plan for them. My older one started going to the school aged program for PA days when our daughter enrolled and he loves attending. He said he would rather go there for the summer over YMCA camps. Great childcare provider.
