Ortho FRCD(C) Specialist in Orthodontics Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Dr. Barreto grew up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and worked as both a dentist and an orthodontist in the Brazilian military. After coming to Canada, he became a Certified Specialist in Orthodontics, and in 2011 was appointed a full-time faculty member in the division of orthodontics at the University of Manitoba, where he taught orthodontics for three years.
Orthodontic treatment is an investment in your overall oral health and it is our goal to make the financial portion of your treatment as straight forward and stress free as possible! The cost of orthodontic treatment depends on the severity of your orthodontic need, the estimated time of treatment and the methods/materials utilized.
Congratulations on your new braces! We would like to give you a few tips to help minimize your discomfort while getting used to the braces. Hopefully this information will also help you avoid any breakages or problems for the duration of your treatment. 1 Wax acts like a Band-aid for your mouth. By placing wax over the bracket (or whatever is irritating your tissue), it "guards" against further discomfort.
Loose or broken bracket (brace glued to the front of a tooth): This is generally not a problem that needs to be fixed immediately. We do need you to call the clinic during regular hours to report the breakage. We may need to see you for an extra visit to fix the problem, or we may fix it at your next scheduled appointment.
Dental braces can correct crooked and crowded teeth, a misaligned bite, and jaw problems. Braces also eliminate problems you may have with eating, speaking properly, or with keeping your teeth clean. Traditional braces have come a long way over the years, becoming sleeker, smaller, and more comfortable.

Amazing service in every way! They were so patient in explaining every step of the way for my daughters procedure. They even called the day after to check in with her which I thought was so considerate of them. We were able to do a payment arrangement that gave us the chance to be able to do this for my daughter.
My daughter felt comfortable the whole time they put the appliance in, they were kind and had patience with her and answered all of her questions too.
Again AMAZING service and talent as well!!

This place went downhill after Dr. Sharaf left. The woman that was supposed to help me had no idea what she was doing with my teeth and then sent me home only for them to call back and said I needed to go all the way back there again because the woman didn’t do what needed to be done forcing me to leave work a second time. At least Dr. Sharaf knew what he was doing and wanted to help. Been going here for years but i’d say just go to another orthodontist to be honest a few of them don’t even know what they’re doing

My daughter had a phase one appliance in her mouth for 4 months or more, it’s damage all her adult teeth, and caused permanent damage to the roof of her mouth. She was in excruciating pain the entire time, she is my third child going through this process so I assumed the pain was only from turning the appliance like her older sisters experienced. After a check up with the children’s dentist, she advised me to get it taken out immediately, and put her on antibiotics. Dr. Barretto wouldn’t let me speak, was very loud and didn’t show any concern for my daughter. He kept telling me over n over

I can confirm their bad reputation and see that I'm not alone. Their communication is awful as scheduling appointments for my children is worse than pulling teeth. I've tried working with them on multiple occasions and was met with nothing but rudeness and unprofessionalism from all of them!!! We gave them another chance after Dr. Barreto promised immediate action. No change!!! We have to book time off work as it is to bring our kids there. after Dr Barreto promised it wouldn't be a problem seeing us in the morning. We get there, and we're told he's busy and won't have time to see us 3-4 hours

I would not recommend this office to even my worst enemy. Barreto is routinely late and shows very little concern for your time. Numerous times our family has waited 30 minutes to an hour even when we book our children's appointment right at the time of the opening. Barreto will shrug it off and boast about the great work he does while trying to justify his tardiness with emergencies and short notice staff shortages. This is hard to believe when all of his chairs are full with clients waiting for treatment.

Don’t recommend at all. Very poor communication and several times I have had appointments I have had booked for months, cancelled by them The day before without telling me other than leaving a voicemail. I usually never saw the or received these voicemails. That has happened three times. During pandemic they did not communicate at all. They are unclear about lengths of appointments. They’d tell me I’d be there for an hour and I’m done in five minutes. They told I’d have my braces for a year and they keep adding on time without directly telling me what’s going on.
