Growing up in the garden alongside his parents and grandmother, Jamie always had a love for flowers and plants and quickly began working for a local florist while attending high school. It was there his love for floral design began to bloom as he would then go on to study Horticulture and attain a position with the prestigious Rideau Hall Greenhouse in Ottawa.
Eventually Jamie was hired as a designer and horticulturalist at Tivoli Florists in Ottawa where he made his mark on the flower industry for the next five years. Having honed his professional and creative skills over the last number of years he confidently decided it was time to branch out on his own and open his own floral store aiming to satisfy the needs of those in search of high-quality specialty plants and custom European floral designs.

WOW! My absolute go-to shop for beautiful bouquets! We were so so happy to have our wedding flowers done by Acanthus as well. They were absolutely PERFECT! Will add photos once pictures are in! Laura & crew are incredible artists and people. If you do not have a super specific idea for your bouquets and/or wedding florals I highly recommend giving Laura a general idea and letting her just work her magic- you will never be disappointed!

GREAT experience ordering flowers for a funeral through Jamie. Rates were unbeatable but more importantly, his attention to detail, size, freshness, and end result exceeded all of our expectations. I called the shop on Saturday, a week before Valentine's day to order delivery to the hospital. The recorded message said to order on-line or to send an e-mail. Since I had questions I sent an email, but did not receive any responses. The following Friday I called the shop again and was informed quite rudely that they do not take orders by e-mail. To say the least I was truly taken aback and decided to order from another florist in town from whom I received friendly and accommodating service. I suppose this florist has enough customers... I will not be attempting to order from them again!

Stopped in at Acanthus Floral on Monday and had the BEST experience! First off the shop is absolutely adorable and the girl at the desk, Laura, was extremely helpful and friendly answered all my questions. They had a excellent selection of plants and adorable pots at a great price! I will absolutely be back
