Services
Nosso Talho was established in 1974 by two Portuguese immigrants, Julio Lima and Francisco Silva. They built a small butcher shop where it is now known as "Little Portugal" at 1326 Dundas st west. This small butcher shop was built for and by the community. For this reason it was named "O Nosso Talho", which translates from Portuguese to "Our Butcher Shop".
Since we won't know the actual price until the order is assembled and the product weighed, this $20 hold accounts for any variances in weight. You will be charged for the estimated price plus the refundable $20 upon placing the order, then you will be issued a refund for any variances in price once the order has been assembled and the actual total is known.

This is a great butcher shop, which also has fresh produce. There's also a good deli. They specialize in Portuguese foods and the Portuguese donuts are awesome. The staff are all very nice, kind and helpful. The only drawback is the customers: some are extremely rude and have absolutely no manners whatsoever. Best to go weekdays when it's not busy.

Fantastic. This butcher offers quality product at a great price. The staff are kind and their selection is varied. They offer parking at the back and is also about a ~5min walk from Ossington station.

This is my go-to place to buy us fresh meat and A few of our staple/favorite Mexican products. They sell from a variety of animal protein to vegetables, cheeses, cold cuts and dry/canned products. Be careful as sometimes their meat is not the freshest but mostly all of it is in a good state.ñ to be prepared asap or even to bag and freeze. They sell mostly Portuguese products but I also find lots of Latin items as well. They have the most affordable prices I’ve found and the staff is actually nicer that I would have expect. Also, many of them either speak or understand Spanish really well, which

Excellent selection of protein, deli and cheese, very fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful. If I lived closer I would visit here more often. Highly recommended if yours having a bbq check them out for your protein.

I went store for the first time today. The meats are definitely good quality. However, 95% of the meats were so old and blackened. I thought it is kind of dry age or any kind of special meats at first sight, after reading the labels I realized all just regular meats , but old. I also got a small cut on my finger in the store. They installed regular window glasses in to the square cooler without tempering them. Fortunately my touch was very smooth, otherwise I would ended up very serious injury. I let the staff know.whoever visit the store be careful, especially if you have any kids with you.

I just want to say THANK YOU! Not only for the quality of the product but the quality of their people. Yesterday I went to the store located in Bloor West, I hurt my back few minutes before of entering in the store, and the young boy who served me noticed my pain and helped me with a lot of kindness. Also 2 young girls, who work as cashier, helped me as a daughter treat a mom. One of her is named Kiona, if I understood properly, she was so nice that she carry my cart and put it in the taxi I called. This kindness keeps the faith in humanity alive! Thank you!!

This butcher is one of the gems of the neighbourhood. The quality of the meat is great. The price is unbeatable and you can ask for them to cut anything the way you like. Over the years I've stopped buying meat anywhere else.

Portugese & Brazilian grocery store. Lots of things you won't find at any other store in Toronto. Some things (like honeycomb, and acerola and mango concentrated juices) are offered at unbeatable prices...

Place is clean. Meat is good fair priced. The cashiers are horrible. They act like they own the place. Rude when they open their mouths. My son has a medical condition which prevents him from wearing a mask. Manager was informed by us he was fine with it. When we got to the cash it was like a band of banshee . screaming at me and my son.

When I first moved into the hood, this place did not resonate with me. In my 11 year transformation from divorced/broke/sad to urban pioneer, I've grown to truly appreciate Nosso Talho. Their meat is fresh, well-cut and they have one of best price to qualify ratios in the city. Specifically, their store-made chouriço is like a trip to Portugal. This stuff improves everything it touches! They're also offering some very high quality olive oils at competitive prices. Way beyond the flavor of the supermarket stuff and the same price point. Added bonus for being true heroes during COVID

Just pass by here, and it impresses me so much. This is south America supermarket, interior environment is clean and bright , with various different cheeses and spices. I wasn't planning to buy anything, but the meat is so fresh. If you get bigger trunk, you will get a good deal on it ,too.
Ps. I bought two packs of whole frozen marrow, they offer cutting services as well.
Definitely go back, and tell others.

Pretty good butcher, but expected better. One thing we were looking for was bacon, and they only had one kind, and it was not smoked - something else we wanted. The prices were reasonable (e.g. 2 porkchops for $6), but not great. There are two sections to the store - on the right it's the main shop where they have all the meats. On the left portion of the store you can get cheese and cold cuts.

My bf saw that they sell half a pig and this made his day. :)

Old school Portugese butcher shop. Great selections of all kind of meat and fish. Large Dei counter as well. Got some meatballs here yesterday for $5. So good! I'm going to have to come back to stock up on essentials.

It just dawned on me that I have been shopping here and pretty much only here for since I got a barbecue.

If you haven't realized it from all the other positive reviews then let me quickly summarize

1. The meat is fresh. Real fresh.
2. Prices are fantastic.
3. They have you covered for just about anything you want to throw on a grill.
4. There is a good, yet small, selection of veg and dairy.

You really can't go wrong if you're looking to grab a few specific things here. Do not expect to do your whole shop at this one store however. If you need bread, cereal, fruit, etc, I would

Best place to buy meat and chicken with an affordable price and Brazilian and Portuguese foods. If you are a Brazilian feeling homesick that is the place to go, they have farofa, pão de queijo, batata palha and picanha.

Nosso Talho - Our Butcher Shop. Wow. What a place, this really is Our butcher shop, babies.

This jam-packed butcher shop offers an excellent selection at reasonable prices. Chorizos are only $1.25 a piece, or if you're smart you can really look like you've outdone yourself at the next BBQ and grab their 10 sausages for $10 deal. Terrific.

Doing a one stop shop? Fear not! Beyond their meat and fish, they also have produce and most every accoutrement you could desire for your meat needs. Piri piri, mayo, chips, etc.

PEPPER POINTS for the salt cod. Trow de wadder, b'y.

Just your local Portuguese butcher. One step inside and you'll be overwhelmed with the smell of fresh meat. It's a classic take-a-number, gawk at slabs of animals and pick up a pound or two kind of place. Nosso Talho has been around since the mid-seventies, and you can just tell it's a fixture of the neighbourhood. It was pretty bumpin' (as meat shops go) on the weekend, but it didn't take long to get served and all the staff were proactive and willing to help.

All meats are represented and at pretty good prices too. We picked up 10 spicy sausages for $10, and a couple

If you need something basic right away and don't have time to go anywhere else... It's ok....steaks are fine, pork is cheap and its always busy so the turnover is great ... but

a. I bought chicken wings and they were sooo big - they grossed me out... seriously ... steroid wings... totally turned me off.

b. I think they use bleach a lot... because if you buy any breads or fresh farmer cheese ... it tastes like bleach.

c. They had a sale on chicken drums... needless to say when I got home... 75% had broken bones.... everyone knows you cant enjoy a drumstick if you cant pick it up

I go to this Portuguese grocery store for their Brazilian goods. They have the basics: coffee, "Guaraná Antarctica" soda, "pão de queijo" mix, Toddy chocolate powder, and many other things. Another reason to go there is that the place is convenient (between Ossington and Dufferin subway stations).

A visual refurbishment for the inside of the store is really overdue. It looks like they receive their shipments and just leave it on the floor. It's really all over the place. Also, many products collect dust on the shelves and I've seen goods over two months past the

A high quality product at a low price, what more can you say? Every time I go here I swear I'll never buy meat at a grocery store again. Inevitably I do, but I'm not really sure why. If you're looking for a beautiful steak to throw on the barbecue this summer, skip your grocery store and go here instead.
