Improves technique, strength and flexibility while learning a diverse style of dance. Jazz is one of the original forms of dance. From Bob Fosse to our current style of contemporary, it is an upbeat fun class for dancers of all ages. A combination of dance and gymnastics. Dancers will learn how to properly develop acrobatic and gymnastic skills with an emphasis on strength, flexibility and control.
Ballet is taught using the Checchetti method. Focusing on technique, strength and flexibility, ballet is the basis for all other forms of dance. Studying ballet helps individuals with poise, posture, confidence and co-ordination. Strong ballet and jazz backgrounds are required for all lyrical classes.

Services
Christine began her dance training at age 3 eventually studying all forms of dance including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Acrobatics, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Modern, Demi-Character and Baton. As a competitive soloist and group member, Christine won numerous trophies and scholarships. She has attended many competitions and conventions in Canada and the United States and performed at various places including the CNE.

Can't say enough about NLDS and the great work they do!! Christine, Shirley, and Molly make dancing such a great experience for my daughter's who have been dancing there for years now. They've built friendships, self-confidence, and self-esteem. The passion and creativity brought by each teacher helps keep the kids engaged and excited to walk through the studio door for each and every class they have. Thanks NLDS!! Keep up the great work!! My daughter has danced with Northern Lights for a few years, and she can’t get enough of it! Shirley, Christine and Molly bring so much joy to each class. You can see the passion that have not only for dance, but also for teaching. I would recommend this dance studio to anyone who is interested in having their child learn in a fun and supportive manner.

Northern Lights is a very welcoming and family-oriented studio. Dancers become each other’s biggest fans, and always encourage each other while building life-long friendships. Teamwork, and support is part of the core values whether the dancers are in the recreational or competitive classes. The teachers are dedicated to building the student’s confidence and ensuring their love of dance. We had seven wonderful years here and would highly recommend this studio!

Our daughter has been dancing at Northern Lights for 4 years and we ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! The teachers not only love dancing but truly care for the whole well being of their students. They teach them to love themselves for who they are and encourage them to strive for their best where they are most talented. They also ensure that their dances and costumes are age appropriate and still come out winning top choreography and top studio at competitions! There is no other dance studio that could compare!

Both my daughters have danced at NLDS for many years and we all truly love this dance studio. It is a place where life long friendships between the students and the parents are made and where the teachers truly care about the dancers. I like that they choose age appropriate costumes and routines and push them to be their best. We have done really well the last few years at dance competitions and it has been so fun! It's so nice to see how the dancers have evolved and are all truly supportive of one another. My girls look forward to dance every week and miss it when they can't go over the holidays

Love, love, love our NLDS family! We started at the studio 10yrs ago this September when my oldest daughter started dancing and added a second dancer, my youngest daughter, 5 years ago. Both of the girls have learned so much from all of our incredibly talented teachers, both girls transitioning from recreational to competitive dancers. The staff is amazing and the dancers and their families are just awesome! And although comp season is over for this year, they are already looking forward to learning their new dances and representing their amazing studio next year :-)

My daughter has been dancing with Northern Lights Dance Studio for over 7 years, and I couldn't ask for a better place for her to dance. Northern Lights isn't just a dance studio, we are one big dance family! The teachers here are amazing, professional, kind and really take the time to teach these kids amazing skills and techniques that they can use not only in dance but throughout their lives as well. I have been dancing at Northern Lights for almost 10 years now, it feels like my second home. Our dance teachers Shirley, Christine, Molly, Arlene and the whole dance team are very kind and supportive towards each other which makes it a very friendly environment to be apart of. I love our NLDS family and I can not wait for another great year to come.

My daughter has been dancing at Northern Lights for three years now. This season my daughter had the pleasure of joining the competitive team. It has been an awesome experience. I have nothing but great things to say about all of the dance teachers. She has learned a lot of technique, grace and ability from Christine, Shirley and Molly. I would definitely recommend NLDS to anyone wanting to dance recreationally or competitively.

We have been part of the NLDS dance family since 2008! All 3 of our daughters have enjoyed dancing year after year from both recreational programs to the competitive dance team. The studios talented dance instructors and awesome dance families have created a love of dance in a supportive environment where dancers build confidence and invaluable life skills. While we have enrolled our girls in many different activities, this is by far their favourite!!!
