Services
Okotoks Eyecare (formerly known as Okotoks Optometry Centre) has been serving Okotoks families since 1982. We're pleased to offer optometric care to families in South Calgary, Turner Valley, Black Diamond, High River, and De Winton. When we first opened our doors, we did so with the intention of always putting people first.
Okotoks Eyecare is proud to use the latest in eye care technology to help all of our patients achieve the vision they deserve. Below is a list of some of the eye care equipment we use daily, some of which we use during every comprehensive eye exam we perform! Autorefractors are essential to help our team determine the extent of your refractive error.
Payment is due at the time service is rendered unless other arrangements have been made in advance. If you have questions regarding your account, please contact our office at 403-938-4300. Many times, a simple phone call will clear up any misunderstandings. Please remember you are fully responsible for all fees charged by this office regardless of your insurance coverage.
No matter what problem your eyes may face, the very first step towards relief is to have an eye exam. Besides helping you find your eyeglass prescription, eye exams are used to detect issues like glaucoma, cataracts, and age-related macular degeneration. Early detection of these eye problems is paramount to providing the care you need to protect your vision.
Good vision plays a vital role in a child's development. Parents and caregivers need to ensure that their child's eyes are healthy and working correctly. To help safeguard your child's sight, make sure they receive regular comprehensive eye exams at least once per year.
The Canadian Association of Optometrists recommends that children undergo their first eye exam between the ages of 6 and 9 months, while preschool-aged children should have at least one eye exam between 2 and 5 years old.School-aged children (between the ages of 6 and 19) should see their optometrist at least every year.

Very efficient while still being warm and friendly. They don't have all the frames on display so you can only see a small selection and then the assistant will pull others from the drawer for you, then you sit to try them all on. There was a bit of upselling pressure but not in an obnoxious or rude way. Overall, I am happy.

I saw Dr Prasad on my first visit. Extremely through and kind.. Dr Prasat found some irregularities in one of my eyes and spent a great deal of time to confirm his diagnosis.
The end result is surgery but still better than loosing my sight.
I highly recommend this clinic for overall perfect patient care. From front desk to the frame specialist and technicians.
10 out of 10!!!

My husband had a work related eye emergency a few months back. He had a metal sliver that a well meaning ER doc had exacerbated by drilling and drilling and drilling into his eye to retrieve it to no avail. It then rusted right away and he was in real trouble. The whole team of Optometrists at Okotoks Eyecare took over his care and probably saved his sight. He was WELL taken care of.
FFWD... I am a new patient this week and I loved my last optometrist so my expectations were set pretty high.
I'm sold. I highly recommend this office.
EVERYONE there has been so lovely to deal with. I did have

I had an issue with my work glasses that required a repair as soon as possible. I was able to schedule in quickly, and the staff members I dealt with were great. They were able to replace the broken component and did it at no charge, which was not necessary but certainly appreciated. This was my first experience at this office, and it was positive all around. I will definitely be continuing my business here.

As for a professional eyecare place this one is amazing however they are not upfront with costs of exams. My wife just wanted an updated prescription as she was having some vision issues. We have never paid over $100 for a basic eye exam and that is what my wife requested and as she is getting put around to all these different machines she commented again she didn't want/need this and this normally is not included in a basic eye exam. The employee stated this is included in all exams now. Doctor was amazing just when it came to pay we are paying for out blue cross portion of the exam plus an extra

Dr Pitcher and his staff first helped me out when my son broke his prescription sports glasses. The frame had cracked and thankfully they had the same frames in stock and were able to swap out the lenses onsite in about 20 minutes! We decided to try Dr P for our regular checkup and proceeded to purchase new frames and lenses. The service from the staff (especially Susan) was superb.

I have only ever been to a few optometrists in my day, but I truly believe that the guys at Okotoks Eyecare are the best in town.
What more do you need than nice staff and a large selection of eye wear for sale? All of the staff at Okotoks Eyecare are friendly and helpful and make the annual eye check up as painless as possible.
For those of you with glasses I would suggest getting laser eye surgery, but remember to still get your eyes checked annually!
