Appraisals on your jewellery are done for a number of reasons, insurance purposes or your own interest.
Adrian, a qualified goldsmith, is an expert in the field. Our full service fine jewellery repairs are done on the premises including gold and silver soldering, ring sizing, supplying and resetting most gemstones and diamonds, claw retipping, new shanks and many other types of repairs. Refinishing of your white gold jewellery is also available on the premises.
We will replace your original diamond's free of charge, if lost from the mounting due to manufacturers defect. All we require is that you bring in your diamond jewellery for a free semi-annual inspections and have your inspection record signed. We also offer a 30 day exchange policy, lifetime free bi-annual ultrasonic cleaning and inspection.
Appraisals on your jewellery are done for a number of reasons, insurance purposes or your own interest. An insurance valuation and appraisal of your diamonds, jewellery, watches and gemstones is so much more than a listing of their values. It provides you with peace of mind that in the event of a loss, the detailed description of the missing item will allow a fitting replacement to be supplied.

Wednesday evening my ring finger was badly swollen after wasp sting, ring was acting as tourniquet cutting off circulation- doctor unable to take it off. Called at his home, Adrian Bakelaar opened up after hours and with special tool had ring cut in moments - instant relief. Having had a negative experience in a London Jewelry Store and wanting to shop locally, I inquired at Bakelaar Jewellers in Exeter to see if they could help me find a Pandora charm featuring an African symbol. This was 2 weeks before Christmas. Bakelaar's no longer carry Pandora charms but Maria showed me a catalog and helped me find the perfect Pandora charm for a gift for a family member. I have shopped here for over 20 years. Friendly store. No pushy sales people. My last visit was to get a 50 year old mechanical wrist watch repaired. The price matched the estimate exactly. The watch lives again and works perfectly.
They make custom jewellery as well as pre-made. There are some nice wall clocks and other house ornaments.

I could not be more pleased with the customer service and thoughtfulness and kindness of this jeweler! I was looking for a very difficult to find Persona bead. Persona beads only range from about $40-$70 so by no means was this a huge profit for this jeweler. This jeweler doesn't even host an online web store and yet, because I was really in want of this specific bead, I e-mailed them and asked if I could possibly purchase from them and have mailed to Manitoba. My husband's wedding ring recently broke. Since it had been worn for 35 years, I was ready to buy a new one but when I brought it into the store, I was told that it could be repaired. I couldn't believe how beautiful the ring looked when I picked it up. The money spent on the repair was well worth it and actually saved me as I did not have to buy a new one. The service was excellent and I would recommend this store to anyone.
