Swanson's Victorian building as it appears today dates back to 1881, yet even before the multiple levels and new brick where added, this same location housed a small watchmaker business. This downtown location has embraced the jewellery business since 1872 when John Welsh Jewellers and Importers opened.

Have been shopping at Swansons since 2010 and I am always impressed with their exceptional service. Ive had numerous custom jewellery pieces created there and made purchases of small items, to large diamond pieces. I've also had appraisals done here by Deb. The atmosphere is inviting and confident and they really listen to what you're looking for. I love going back again and again as it feels like chatting to friends now and not just sales people that have constant staff change overs like many chain-brand stores.

Was very disappointed my ring was older and precious took in to get a diamond replaced
When got it back the pearl looked bigger and not my original pearl
Looked more like something you might get from a bubble gum machine
I called they laughed said they could put a smaller one in if I wanted but that it was the same pearl
I wore it exactly 7 times as I was so disappointed in the appearance
Well guess what went to a show and dinner the " pearl" fell off!
Will never go back!

So thrilled with the wonderful service from Swanson’s! I had a vision for transforming an old ring into my “offspring” ring. The design was exactly how I envisioned! The team was amazing in every way! We had some alterations and some covid considerations and the staff did everything to make my vision come to light. I can’t say enough about this experience. They made me a beautiful custom band to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. I love it. They took the time to draft me different options and always answered my emails quickly.
