City Dental On Yonge

I’ve been a client for a quite a few years. They’ve always been a friendly, professional and helpful dental clinic. The receptionists are always nice and welcoming. My hygienist is very patient and answers all my questions thoughtfully and professionally. 5 star dental clinic!

Had a root canal crown replacement and annual clean up at this location. The staff and the doctors are very friendly. Very clean facility which is comforting especially during the pandemic. Did not have to wait a lot before my appointments and the waiting area is not crowded. Recommend this place.

Everyone is so friendly, checking in and out is always seamless. They always explain everything to me prior and during, clean environment. Since WFH now there are closer dental clinics but I still travel to come here for their excellent service and professionalism. Love their ceiling and front TV screens with TVs shows playing, helps the time past the time!

Took my 11 month old daughter to her very first dentist visit. Dr. Wong is absolutely amazing with babies and made her first experience very positive. When we arrived the front desk staff are very welcoming and when we were brought into the exam room they already had cocomelon playing on the tv so my daughter was instantly smiling and laughing. Great place to come to if you have kids.

Great team, welcoming and friendly experience, I was in and out quick! They also have TVs to watch Netflix while you’re teeth are being cleaned, who knew?! I thought that was a great feature.
They were very understanding after I had gone w/o a dental visit for a few years due to anxiety, and were super encouraging and patient during my entire visit. Also flexible for those who need financial assistance w/ bigger procedures or have no dental coverage.
I booked an exam for August, they have my business for sure!

Dr Wong and her assistant Amy are both amazing! They made sure all my problems were addressed and really took good care of my teeth. They provided exceptional service!

Very friendly staff and professional. Made sure I knew what insurance covered vs out of pocket before my appointment. Hygienist was amazing, didn't feel any discomfort during the cleaning. Office was clean and felt safe with the COVID prevention protocols in place.

The best dental experience I’ve had. Very friendly staff that ensure you’re comfortable & doing well. They aren’t pushy trying to sell you different products/services you don’t need like other dental offices. Bonus: tv on the walls and ceiling to help the time pass by faster.

I booked an appointment here because I wanted to take advantage of an opencare offer and it was the most convenient dentist for me. My cleaning and checkup felt rushed but it was okay. Nothing too much to complain about. I was told I had several fillings and came back to get some filled a few weeks later.

My appointment was 30 minutes late. When I approached the receptionist to possibly reschedule because I was annoyed by the wait and didn't want them to do a rush job for my fillings, she assured me there was ample time and seemed like she really didn't want me to reschedule. Looking

I had a pretty awful experience here a few years ago, when I came to Dr. Gill as they had a discount for students. I felt like they were trying to get as much money out of me as they could. For instance, he told me that I grind my teeth and really needed a mouth guard. Never in my life have I been told that I grind my teeth, so I was obviously skeptical and politely declined to purchase the custom mouth guard. I was also told I had a number of old cavities that had to be repaired. He used some sort of cheek wiggling technique when injecting the anesthetic, which was in itself painful and left me

Found this place in Opencare due to the location to my work. I had 2 small fillings for my tooth and it cost me $500. And another filling in the following week cost me another $400. And second week that teeth start to ache. I went back for check they told me i need to do root canal for that teeth and will cost another 1K. If the doctor realized this teeth needs to do root canal why they still do the fillings for me and waste my time and money. I asked other dentist office in DT for root canal it only cost half of their price. If they can do their job perfectly I won't say anything about the

I don't think they even deserve 1 star to be honest.

They are not upfront about costs and will change costs on you. I just accepted it because I figured it would take more effort fighting than just paying. If you need a receipt ask for them right after your appointment, it takes forever for them to mail anything.

I will say their dental hygienists are among the best I've had, but as a business they are terrible.

Staff was super nice, friendly and helpful. My dental hygienist was very nice, approachable and offered helpful advice on how to properly maintain and clean my teeth. My old dentist used to just make me sit and tell me to open my mouth and I don't know what goes on after. However, Monica, the dentist I met, was first of all nice. She explained along the way what she was doing which I really appreciated. Some people might not like that but I would love it if my dentist would tell me what's going on. I needed a new dentist downtown since it got too cumbersome to go to my usual dental office outside of the city. I picked City Dental due to its location to my work and its incredible reviews on both Yelp and Opencare. What I ended up getting was a dental practice that felt like it was just starting up.
The hygienist who did the cleaning was timid and clearly inexperienced (though very sweet). When she was finally done, it felt like I had been given a shower. After the cleaning, I asked her how long she's been working for and she said she just graduated a month ago.

I have been super phobic of the dentist for years. Dr Gill and his staff were nothing but patient, kind and respectful to me. He took the time to explain everything. Do not be dissuaded by the location in a very busy part of town. These folks run a clean and welcoming office staffed by courteous and genuine people.

Dr. Gill was so warm towards me even though I explained I wasn't there to find a new dentist, but rather to consult on a procedure my current primary dentist would like me to go through. Though I felt pretty weird about telling him initially that I basically wouldn't be following up long term with him probably, he treated me just as respectfully as any other patient.
