With a background in education, my professional experience has focused on supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds with a variety of needs. In doing so I have developed a methodology to assist clients in achieving their maximum potential; educationally, professionally, socially and personally.
This work, combined with a keen interest and sensitivity in relating to others, has become the foundation upon which I have built my psychotherapy practice. Degrees in Education and Psychology led me to pursue my interest in Psychotherapy and receive training at the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy.

Services
My professional career began as a teacher in both the elementary and secondary school system. I became a registered member of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) and then obtained additional qualifications in special education and guidance counselling. My professional teaching experience has included work in Special Education, supporting students with learning disabilities as well as those with Special Needs.
I provide a supportive environment for professionals to discuss difficulties that are impacting their workplace performance. We will work together to create a personalized plan that supports you in overcoming challenges and assists you in reaching your professional goals. The single activity occupying most of our waking time is work.
Maintaining emotional balance is a necessary part of a productive life, but everyday challenges can prevent us from achieving this. Together we will address your unique situation non-judgementally while you learn more about your strengths and capacities, as well as those aspects of yourself that get in your way.
I work closely with clients to assist them with symptom management of a wide range of disorders including depression, anxiety disorders, addictions, and low self-esteem. The way we think has a powerful impact on our feelings and behaviours. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) helps us to change our negative and anxious thoughts so we can feel and function better in order to improve our quality of life.
If you are suffering with anxiety, therapy is usually the most effective way to treat the condition because, unlike anxiety medication, anxiety therapy treats more than just the symptoms of the problem. Therapy can help you uncover the underlying causes of your worries and fears; learn how to relax; look at situations in new, less frightening ways; and develop better coping and problem-solving skills.
