We also use state of the art tools and equipment like DIGITAL X-RAYS and INTRA ORAL CAMERAS to help us obtain a clear diagnosis of any dental issue. Patients who are anxious about their treatments need not worry. Our office offers NITROUS OXIDE and other types of SEDATION DENTISTRY to help you relax and prevent any pain or discomfort.
Dr. Frank Van Gyn has been practicing dentistry for 46 years and still enjoys working more than a few days a week at one of his 4 current practices. Growing up in Pigeon Lake, Alberta, Dr. Van Gyn attended the University of Alberta, graduating in 1976. He moved to Victoria BC in 1978 and by 1979 he had opened his first practice in Fairfield Plaza.
Dr. Shaila had an interest in dentistry beginning in her childhood years. From that time, her desire to serve others by providing dental care continued to grow and she has always maintained that same caring attitude and commitment. Her excellence in pre-dental studies allowed her early acceptance into dental school and graduated from State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine with a DDS degree.

This is place has been my best experience with dentists. I've had many fillings in my long life of drinking pop and energy drinks, but this place does the best job. I recently had two fillings done and was in and out in less than 30 minutes with no pain at all. Staff are very friendly. If I moved away I am sure I would miss coming here to get my teeth looked at.

Best dental clinic ever. Over the past 6 months I'v had multiple fillings, a root canal, wisdom teeth extracted, the works. Each appointment was a very pleasant experience (almost relaxing if that's even possible). Zero pain, zero discomfort, great atmosphere, and super friendly staff. I have been seen by a few different dentists and hygienists who work there and they have all been great. HIGHLY recommend.

I had my third visit today and I must say that Amanda, Amy and everyone else I've interacted with at this office are super friendly and AMAZING! I hate going to the dentist but all of my experiences here have been extremely positive. I am actually looking forward to my next appointment. I rate them 100/10 :)

I have had such positive experiences at this dental clinic! The staff are incredibly kind, caring and welcoming. The Dr works quickly and communicates with you throughout his work. They are constantly checking on you to make sure you are comfortable. I am very glad to be a patient to such a wonderful team. Thanks so much Cadboro Bay Dental!!

They wanted to over treat me - as someone with no coverage and huge dental anxieties I wanted to do the minium of what was needed, they quoted me over $1000 plus a night guard. Other dental professionals quoted me less and did much less. He also waited until after I was medicated (triazolam) to go over the treatment plan and to inform me that I may need a root canal (this was not told to me prior) which made for a horrific experience.

I just had 3 cavities filled and was a pleasantly unexpected experience! The staff is really professional, they did everything to make me comfortable and reduce any possibility to fell pain by freezing the nerves and distracting me with a documentary on Netflix. I`m not an expert in dental procedures but the doctor really seemed to pay attention to details in order to get the best result and at the end Amanda took care of all the payment and insurance work.
