Beechmount Animal Hospital in Waterloo, Ontario was established in 1981 by Dr. Grant Boa. It's now staffed by four doctors and supported by two registered veterinary technicians, two receptionists and three animal care assistants. We provide conventional medicine and surgery for both dogs and cats and Dr. Anderson is available to provide a wide variety of alternative therapies.
Our clinic is conveniently located on Erb St. between University Ave and Fischer-Hallman Rd. and has plenty of available parking. If your pet has an emergency outside our regular business hours, please contact the Emergency Veterinary Clinic at 405 Maple Grove Rd, Cambridge, Ontario.

Services
Annual physical exams, vaccination, heartworm and intestinal parasite detection are all part of the essential health care routine that we provide. Our in house diagnostics include radiography (x-rays), blood work, urinalysis, and fecal analysis. Having diagnostic equipment in clinic allows us to diagnose illness quickly and effectively.

Dr. Jill Blathwayt is by far THE BEST veterinarian I have ever had. She takes her time, goes through everything thoroughly, and does not push anything on you or push you to do anything (unlike most vets). She gives her honest opinion and answers every single question you ask. She truly makes you feel at ease no matter what you're going through with your pet. You can tell that she truly loves animals and wants to help them. I will never go to anyone else! Beechmount Animal Hospital is also very reasonably priced and they have squeezed me in more times than I can count which I am truly thankful for

We've been taking our cats to Beechmount Animal Hospital for nearly 10 years, and they've always amazing with our pets. Recently, our oldest cat was quite sick, and it was very comforting to take him in each day knowing they got to know him and would pay great attention to him. From us, and Ferris... My family has been bringing their pets to Beechmount Animal Hospital for years, so I decided to bring my dog here too. With my dog, I've had several negative experiences - the most disappointing of which being the time when she got loose and ran towards the road because they tied their leash to her harness instead of correctly fastening it around her neck. Following this experience, they were harsh in the way they handled my dog. For example, they abruptly released her from spay surgery without a cone or time to observe her because she was too anxious (the most anxious I've ever seen her) and difficult

I had brought my dog in for the first time when I was still attending school in Waterloo and have been going back ever since (it's been almost 10 years since I graduated and moved back to Toronto). The vets there are very professional, reliable and never recommends anything unless it's truly needed!
My dog had a major dental surgery last year - the procedure was done extremely well and he had a speedy recovery! The staff were very attentive every time we visited and cost is always reasonable, thank you Dr.Boa and Beechmount!

Recently I had to say good bye to my 18 year old Siamese cat. He was a member of our family and the decision was heart breaking. I made the decision and called Beechmount Animal Hospital in the morning at 8am. I am not a client of this vet clinic.... but they made the time and fit us in. By 9am I was there with my Chin Chin. These guys were so supportive while we were losing our baby girl. They weighed all options with us, gave us all likely scenarios that may happen and in the end we’re totally honest with us and how they felt she was doing. The team was wonderful, supportive, caring and so helpful during such a hard time. Would highly recommend!

Our three cats see Dr. Boa and Dr. Jill for their regular check-ups, but our visits became more frequent as our two year old cat, Tino, developed bladder stones. Dr. Jill was extremely knowledgeable when answering our many questions during this stressful time. We felt no hesitation leaving Tino in Beechmount's care as she underwent surgery, as all staff members treated Tino as if she were their own. Feel very at home here. They have extreme attention to detail and make things easy for the owner and their animal. Every time you phone in you get greeted very warmly and politely. My pup needed to be neutered… as soon as possible so they priced everything out for me so I was able to plan for the payment months in advance.
