Services
Dr. Buhrows-Leach had a particular vision in mind when she opened the hospital. After working in many practices over the years, and seeing many things that she felt were disheartening, like corner cutting and inconsistent care and quality, she decided that she wanted to open a hospital that was different.
At Bridge Street Veterinary Hospital, we believe in providing the best possible care to each patient we serve, with every visit to our clinic. The best way to accomplish this goal is by offering all of the care and services that your pet could ever need throughout his or her lifetime.

We want to support your companion through every life stage, from the first round of vaccinations to specialized geriatric care, and every moment and milestone that occurs along the way.
As a new client of Bridge Street Veterinary Hospital, you can expect our full attention to your pets' needs. Our service will be provided with courtesy and respect. When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted warmly, and we will usher you into an examination room as soon as we have one available.
Meet Kristen's Love bird, Melon, who is outgoing and loves to hang out on his sister's shoulder. Meet Maia's handsome golden retriever Leon! Leon is 11 years old, and his favourite thing to do is run free in the forest near our home. He also LOVES tennis balls, swimming, food and of course all pets he can get!
BSVH is very proud to be accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association. We undergo regular, comprehensive onsite evaluations by experts who evaluate our practice on more than 900 standards of veterinary care. We are confident in our ability to conduct our practice with the highest standards of excellence!

Dr. Tracy Burrows is a very caring, compassionate and knowledgeable vet. I've used her services for over a decade and trust in her judgement and care.

I just moved to Waterloo and recently suffered the loss of my beloved Dog, heart broken and not sure I could ever replace him, But I needed something to love and care for.. I did some research and fell In love with a Sphynx breed.. I soon found our little princess.. now these cats are just not normal cats so looking got a special vet was important... I happen to stumble upon these guys.. now I didn't know they had sphynx experience but I was pleased with the reviews they had in general! Not only do they have experience, but some of the staff even own this unique cat! So happy to find this place

This clinic is a scam! They only care about MONEY AND OVERCHARGE you. Never get your medication from them, i got charged $85 for a routine visit that had to end within 10minutes bcs they dont know how to treat dogs that are anxious. Even though it wasnt even a complete check up i got charged $85 for that and $65 for an ear test. They prescribed a medication aurizon for $150 that costs only $30 online at any other pet pharmacy! Totally disappointed. I called the vet after 5 minutes of picking up the medication to return it as its completely overpriced, and the staff tells me “its illegal for us

My cat was in critical condition. Dr Buhrows cordinated his care at the emergency vet clinic and kept me updated on his progress. Once he no longer needed 24 hour care, he went to Bridge Street Veterinary Hospital. The care he got there was incredible and they did not do anything that was not necessary. I was kept updated each step of the way , they me sent pictures of my cat to show how he was doing. I can't say enough good things about this vet hospital. The staff are all great and supportive. My cat is home and on the road to full recovery.

Transfered our two cats here after moving to Waterloo. The vet is very friendly and professional taking time to ask and understand questions. The had my file transfered and were familiar before we showed up. They are doing curbside drop off online during COVID. Wait times for appointments seem to be 2 weeks which is longer than I am used to (but also a sign they are in demand) and they don't have a vet tech for blood work on Fridays.

Do not recommend. I have been to this clinic twice. My first visit was for vaccines. It took over an hour and I was charged an additional $120 for an exam fee and another $65 for an ear test. These costs were not shared with me until I received the bill. I trust these tests were done as no information was shared with me except that he could put on a few pounds and that he had a bad ear infection, which was very clear and I shared that with his vet before dropping him off.
I decided to try them again 2 weeks later and things got even worse. I was charged another exam fee without asking me in advance

I want to begin this review by sharing the facts, the manager took the time to review with me my concerns, and mentioned Kristen will be spoken to about this. However the need to share with the public is imminent when beings continue to be refused proper service.
My opinion on how I feel I was treated is irrelevant, this establishment has posted signs for attendants to wear a mask, however you can not attend. When questioned about a discretionary process that is causing further health ailments to patients I was presented with arrogance, ignorance, and ultimately disrespect.
I have waited to book

Positive: Professionalism, Reliability, Responsiveness
The staff and vet here have been extremely responsive and helpful, including making accommodations for my very anxious dog to make sure he gets the treatment he needs despite difficult COVID circumstances. Very glad to have switched to here. Recommend.

Dr. Tracy Buhrows Leach is absolutely amazing. She is gentle, kind and knowledgeable. She is passionate about animals and their well-being, while being understanding of the owner's circumstances. She is wonderful with animals, including our bunny, who we took to see her! She also helped us plan end of life care and decisions with compassion. Customer service is wonderful and I was always able to get our bunny in. We hope to take our next pet to see her, too!
