Dunphy's Funeral Home had its beginnings three generations ago. It began with Michael C. Dunphy in 1892. He was approached by families to build a casket for their loved ones on an as-needs basis. Over time he began providing transportation of the deceased to the church and then to the cemetery. At the time, a wake was held in the deceased's home.
William J. Dunphy became the second generation undertaker and together with his wife, Marjorie, in 1970 opened Conception Bay Centre's first funeral home in which to wake their loved ones. By 1980 there was such a demand for the facility that an extension to the funeral home was constructed. In 1998, a major construction saw the funeral home grow and again in 2002, another addition was added.

Funeral Director/Owner, Ron Fitzpatrick was compassionate, kind and extremely professional from start to finish guiding me through the wake and funeral process for my Dad. He handled everything with the sensitivity and ease needed to get things organized. The day I had to come into Dunphy's and sign off on various documents, select an Urn, choose a bulletin and complete all

Kind and professional staff , hard working family run business. but their new crematorium is subpar , lower than typical Cana cremation association of North America . recommended operating temperature ( 1000 Fahrenheit ) during mid burn cycle vs (1400 to 1800 Fahrenheit ) , which is inefficient and could potentially cause emissions complaints from neighbours . And longer wait times . Thankfully no reported issues as of yet ! Unlikely but possibly due to a lower btu primary chamber burner , in lower priced retorts . But it’s a small family run business after all . They are doing their best and
