Signature Dental

I would absolutely NOT recommend Dr. Turpin as others have stated. Especially not for crowns and definitely not for gum re-contouring. My crown looks like garbage the way it is inserted as she clearly didn't push it up far enough. Not would she take the labs strong recommendation to use dental opaquer on the post and old tooth. So while the crown is as close to the same colour as the rest of my teeth, you can see the black up on top (as she left a space between my gums and old tooth) and black through the tooth. She's too good to be told anything or listen to professionals. It's her way or the highway. As she fired me as a patient because I complained about my almost $2000 FRONT TOOTH CROWN and her ego was put on check. She clearly didn't like this. So now I am stuck with a garbage looking crown, terrible mismatched arches in my front tooth crown vs my other real tooth. She kept telling me that it would look better after it healed as I complained about it after she inserted it. When it was temp inserted at the lab just a few hours before, it was perfect. Dr. Turpin is not experienced enough for a crown. Especially not on a front tooth. I was having issues having a crown done and she assured me that it would be perfect and she had a lot of experience. Dr. Turpin is someone I knew personally for 36 years so this is not just a dentist who I walked in off the street from. I wish I hadn't of put my trust into someone I knew and read the terrible reviews about her on social media and the internet. Dr. Turpin fired me as a patient because she said "she couldn't make me happy". Her issue was that she didn't want to fix her numerous screw ups and would rather fire me and refund me. I now have two mismatched front teeth, different colours and no recourse for protection if something happens to this crown. She's made my margins so shitty (due to removing far too much of my gums) that even attempting another crown is not even possible. After seeing 2 other dentist who both agree that it was not inserted properly and one had received complaints from a former patience of Dr. Turpin's.... STAY AWAY! For the cherry on top? She had a dental assistant call me and fire me! She didn't pick up the phone (did I mention I've known her for 36 years??), the other owner didn't call, so they had a dental assistant do it. So very unprofessional. To make it even better, I can't even go to the Newfoundland and Labrador Dental Board and complain as Dr. Blakey is the chair and oversees complaints. So it was told to me not to even waste my breath. Dr. Turpin is covered by every angle and will never be held responsible for her constant defiance of professionals and her clear inexperience. Also, when you let the team know that this has caused you mental anguish, they mock you for it. I would not, ever recommend Dr. Turpin. Unless you do not want nice teeth, you prefer a dishonest dentist, someone who promises champagne dreams but delivers a beer buzz and someone who claims they know what they're doing when clearly they don't, then Dr. Turpin may be great for you! There are many reviews out their with similar stories, especially about crowns. Side note: This crown was done in Dec 2024 and it's not April 2025. To say this has been a terrible experience would be an understatement. Sadly this site does not allow me to attach a picture.

Excellent team of professionals.

Heavily disappointed with Signature and can't recommend or endorse Dr. Turpin's work after a recent experience with having a crown adjusted.
At the time of the original work (2013), I was told by a member of her team to expect a lifespan of approximately 25 years for the crown if proper care was maintained. I certainly did that, and also avoided the obvious foods and habits, like biting into an apple, etc.
When the tooth came out earlier this summer, I scrambled to make it to the practice for a quick fix. After Dr. Turpin told me it was "too bad" and a "shame" that I'd lost the tooth and crown

My mother had a terrible experience with this dental office ... poor dental work, unprofessional. Use caution when visiting this office .. I suggest reading other online reviews . I wish I had befor choosing this office .

Very great and professional service. I've been going to this office since I moved to Newfoundland and couldn't be happier with the treatment. The receptionists are extremely friendly and the hygienists are thorough. When I needed to see a dentist, it was done promptly and I was happy with the work they did. I would definitely recommend Signature Dental.

My daughter and I have been patients of Dr. Blakey for almost 10 years now and we both visit her and her wonderful team regularly for check-ups & cleanings. My daughter is now 19 and is blessed to have never had so much as a filling required. I on the other hand have had numerous fillings replaced/repaired, a root canal as well as porcelain veneers over the years. The dental cleanings I have had from the hygienists here are amazing, much more thorough than the cleanings I have received from other clinics in the past. I am 100% satisfied with all of the services provided here. No one likes to go
