The friendly Clarity Eyecare family is proud to be taking care of your eye health and vision needs. Upon completion of a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University, Dr. Harleen Takhar moved to Portland, Oregon to continue her studies. She graduated with her Doctorate of Optometry with honours in 2010 and moved back to Vancouver shortly after.
Over the years, Dr. Takhar has practised in various clinical settings allowing her to broaden her scope of practice. Her experience includes ocular disease treatment and co-management, contact lenses fitting, emergency eye care, and pediatrics. She has a special interest in the treatment of chronic dry eyes, which can affect both comfort and vision.

While we are not currently able to see patients in the office, we are happy to offer telephone and video consults for many eye-related concerns. We are also able to call in prescriptions for eye drops and make referrals to specialists if necessary. We are excited to offer shipping directly to your door on any and all contact lens orders.

By the year 2050, it is estimated that half of the world's population will be nearsighted. Myopia (nearsightedness) is rising rapidly and it is becoming more common to see it in younger children. While the primary concern for parents is often that their child will not be able to see as well without glasses, another concern with increasing myopia is a higher risk for retinal health problems in the future.

Both my wife and I have been patients of Dr. Takhar for many years, started in New West and followed her to Clarity Eyecare in Surrey. Both Dr Takhar and the whole team are EVERYTHING you could hope for in medical professionals. Incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, on time and they take the science of exams/glasses/contacts and work with you on the most personal of levels. Dr Harleen Takhar is the best optometrist I have ever visited. She gave me expert advice on how to help me with my dry eyes. I’ve seen other optometrists who didn’t diagnose my issue and they gave me ineffective advice. Dr Takhar gave me different methods on how to help my dry eyes including how to save money on my contact lenses. Thanks Dr. Harleen!

Best experience! Staff is so caring and educated on their product line. The equipment they use is very up to date. I don’t think I have been to such a thorough optometrist. Dr. Takhar is amazing with my children. They actually ask for when they can go in again!!!

Every single staff member and doctor I’ve encountered here has been so amazing. They listen and seem like they genuinely care about providing an above and beyond service. My daughter and I both came here for eye exams and purchased contacts and glasses after and every step from booking appointments to the busy child’s eye exam to picking up our purchased products was a completely delight!

New office, new equipment, efficient with my time. Dr. Takhar was helpful in suggesting things I could do for my dry eyes. Also told me what I shouldn't be wasting my money on. Real advice is always appreciated. I since have taken my kids there for their check ups which have been a breeze and my wife was also accommodated when she had an emergency. Great, independently owned and operated optometry clinic!

Dr. Sian is great. He is very professional and helpful. He really took the time to explain all of my sisters concerns with her. He has a personable and caring nature towards his patients. You can see that he genuinely cares and wants the best for your eyes. He is continuously learning the growths in his field which as a patient you want your dr. to be learning the new and upcoming treatments and technology.

The entire team at Clarity is very knowledgeable and professional. Dr Takhar took the time to hear about my concerns and was very thorough and honest when conducting my exam. I did not feel rushed at any point. Added bonus Dianne at the front desk provided great suggestions on glasses styles/fashions that would best suit my face so I didn't feel overwhelmed when deciding on a new pair of glasses later.
Also, I loved the fact they are open on Saturdays and I didn't need to adjust my work schedule to squeeze in a visit.
I will definitely be back for my next check up and be suggesting Dr Takhar

Dr. Sian at Clarity Eyecare is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. He takes the time to educate and explain what each test is for, and the reason they are being performed. He is also fantastic with the little ones, as I take my 2 boys in for their regular eye exams as well. Clarity Eyecare's new location is bright, fresh and has a great selection of prescription glasses and sunglasses.
