He felt an instant passion for Salsa the moment he took his first steps. Once hooked to Salsa he took lessons with local instructors from various Latin countries. To build a solid teaching expertise he attended lessons and workshops with famous teachers from all over the world.

With its cradle on the West coast of the USA West Coast Swing (WCS) has conquered the whole world and now you can learn WCS at SMOOTH LATIN GROOVES right here in Barrie.
So if you aspire to look like Dancing with the Stars at your wedding opening dance you may consider taking a few dance lessons. It's quite easy to learn an enchanting SLOW WALTZ routine tailored to your favorite song for your wedding dance. You can also shine with a sensuous RUMBA or a smooth CHA CHA.
Private dance lessons are by appointment only. We are teaching during the day, afternoon, and evening, and weekends. Availability depends on open time slots but we are quite flexible in scheduling your appointments. You won't lose any money, though. We are quite flexible in adjusting to your availability and will reschedule if you miss a class.
We found Norbert to be a strong and motivating teacher. His passion and love for dance comes through when he is teaching. He is always positive wanting his students to gain the most from his classes. Norbert's dance lessons are done in a way that you enjoy every minute and never feel bad about yourself.

My wife and I found our first dance lesson with Norbert to be very informative and fun! We always enjoyed dancing but really wanted to learn how to dance properly. We decided to try Salsa out and after an hour Norbert had us already doing 3 different types of moves. He was extremely patient, very friendly and welcoming and extremely knowledgeable on the topic of dancing (and life in general too!). The location is convenient for us and we also really like that he is very flexible (with timing and cancellations) and affordable with his rates. We will definitely be going back to learn some more!

I completed my first private dance class with Norbert on Wednesday evening. He was able to accommodate me with my schedule, as I work out of town. Upon my arrival, he was very welcoming. My lesson with him was amazing! I found Norbert to be very detailed, patient and gave me constructive criticism when needed. I look forward to my next 8 classes with him, and know that I am well on my way with my "Learning Curve"!

Last time I was there it was a wonderful unforgettable experience. Norbert ( dance instructor) truly provides his undivided attention dedicated to his dancers. I’ve learned so much and I’ve made so many new friends. I would highly recommend anyone who would love to learn how to dance salsa. My experience with Smooth Latin Grooves and Norbert Wunn ,was nothing short of spectacular. Norbert's years of teaching experience and his caring connection to his students was evident in his patience and drive to make each and every class a successful and most entertaining dance encounter. The 3 yrs I have spent learning and perfecting my dancing have been a transformational time. I hope to be learning from Norbert for many yrs to come. I can't recommend them highly enough.

A life changing experience! In 2011 I had the pleasure of meeting Norbert the owner of Smooth Latin Groves. He gently encouraged me to try Latin dance. I absolutely loved it and the lovely people I have met through him and dancing throughout the last few year has truly been a life changing experience. My partner and I have been taking West Coast Swing lessons with Norbert for a few months now.
I find Norbert very easy to learn from as he show you everything step by step for both male and female. He is very patient and makes learning to dance fun and enjoyable. No stress or pressure. I was a complete beginner and my partner already knew quite a bit, but we are both getting a lot out of the lessons. Norbert accommodates our availability and has a lovely studio. He is also a great conversationalist..... just sayin'.

I took Salsa lessons from Norbert at Smooth Latin Grooves Dance Studio and enjoyed them immensely! Norbert is a very patient and knowledgeable instructor and he made learning fun and enjoyable which is what dancing should be! He explained everything thoroughly and was a wonderful instructor. The instructor is amazing. There is a large amount of difficult information, yet he is awesome at delivering how-to-info. He is great at making sense of it and helping to convert the theory to real life.
After only a few lessons I feel comfortable on the dance-floor. I never thought I could do it, even though I love salsa I was hesitant because I do not meet the "standard measurements" of a typical "salsa-gal". Norbert was very helpful in building up my self-esteem! Thanks, Norbert!
