Here at Bow Bottom Veterinary Hospital, we strongly believe in client education and open communication. In order to help you make the best medical decisions for your family, (those with fur and those without) we need to be able to talk. Our team is here to help answer any questions you have about recommendations and we want you help you make decisions that are within your budget and are in your pets' best interests.
We are happy to process these requests during our office hours. If you request an appointment with in the next few days or this is an emergency, please call the office at (403)278-1984 or proceed to the nearest emergency facility which are shown on our home page. Please use this link to request your prescription refill or food item.
I love Julie and Bow Bottom! <3 <3 They are always so kind and gentle with my baby and I feel like she is truly getting the proper care when I take her there! As always, our Bow Bottom experience was top notch! Staff is amazing and caring and the atmosphere is so welcoming. Today was only a tech appointment for Callista and she was cared for with utmost attention.
You've taken a step in the right direction when you become a client at Bow Bottom Veterinary Hospital! We will ask you a few general questions and for permission to obtain medical records from your previous practice. This is where we will also obtain your pet's insurance policy information, in case it is required for the appointment.
We are accredited by the prestigious American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), 1 of only 8 practices in all of Calgary. We are committed to helping your dogs and cats with preventative health care. Our wellness consultations are extended in length to ensure your questions are addressed and we are not rushed.

Dr. Schell and her staff truly have the best interests of their patients at the forefront. Their love, dedication, and lifelong learning shows through in everything they do and my pets are lucky to have them on their healthcare team. They have earned my trust and loyalty. I've had to unfortunately bring two deceased animals to them in the span of 9 months.
I can say that even though I've had negative feelings due to the front desk in the past, the staff that took care of my deceased animals were compassionate, patient and understanding. They gave me the time I needed to say my final goodbye, and picked them up with such love as well.

Dr. Schell is so thorough and truly cares about her patients. Our puppy has been seeing her for 2 days and she has already surpassed any expectations we could have had. She takes the time to talk you through anything that might be going on with your fur babies and genuinely wants the best for both the pets and the the pet parents.
