Sam's Anchor Cafe is an institution around the Bay Area - for good reason.

The seafood is great, of course, with much already which said by many. I wanted to speak more to the waterfront ambiance and sightgeist.

The staff at Sam's is superlative, friendly without being unctuous, and they have the casual brunch experience down to an art form. My wife and I had driven from Sacramento - an hour an a half - just to renew our memories of the place from years passed. The trip was definitely worth it. Even with the deck tables filled, there existed a subdued murmur among the guests,

I have always enjoyed Sam's. The wait staff was very engaging and friendly. My Brioche French Toast was fabulous. The beer selection was pretty good. Ramos Fizz was delicious, as was the Blind Pig IPA. Plus it is always great to eat outside on the dock.

We come to Sam's often. Even though we live in the bay area, Sam's and the surrounding area feel set apart, and it feels almost like a mini vacation to go there. We come several times a year.
Now put simply, you'll enjoy a nice meal on the water here. They even have some heated seating on the deck. You should expect somewhat higher prices for the view and the experience. Mind you, they are not exorbitant. But that burger or lobster roll will be a little more than usual. So don't come looking for an inexpensive meal, but if you are okay paying a little more for great service, good food and a wonderful

Wonderful spot, delicious food, catch of the day was great and enjoyed the clam chowder and crab cakes as well. Plenty of other choices also available. Prices are not cheap but quality is commiserate.
Service was a tiny bit slow, but the outdoor deck seating with heated seats and views of San Francisco more than made up for it.

I love Sam's! This an iconic staple where everyone who comes to Tiburon must visit! My boyfriend and I moved to Tiburon and we instantly became friends with Slide, an OG bartender who makes the most delicious frothy topped mai tais I have ever had. We swear by the succulent garlicky shrimp appetizer and in fact, I'll probably just get my own next time because I always feel like I'm still craving it whenever I have to share with more than one person. The vibe along the waters edge and friendly staff are unbeatable and I am proud to give them 5 stars.

Sam's Anchor Cafe is in a very convenient location, and I had pleasant experience dining here after visiting Angel Island. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the waterfront and from what our table ordered, the mussels, lobster, and fried calamari were especially memorable. Though I enjoyed the food and ambience, I'm not entirely sure if I'd come back or not because I've certainly had better seafood before. Nonetheless, I think this place is a solid option, especially for larger groups. If I do end up here again, I'd want to try the cioppino!

Sam's is amazing for the view and the vibe but the 1.5 hour wait for an outside table is not so amazing. Sam's also does not answer their phone which made our decision on whether or not to come to Sam's a bit difficult. Parking can get difficult but you could get lucky on the streets in the vicinity or the parking lot nearby.

My friend had the clam chowder (which I couldn't get because the bacon is already cooked in it), she said it was ok, nothing special. I had the French Onion soup which was also pretty standard.

The crab toast was good, you must add hot sauce. The fish

Sitting comfortably under winter sun out on the deck by the boats. Great fresh seafood that we all like and will come back.

This is an oldie but Goldie. Has been consistent for last 23 years when I first discovered it. Sitting on the deck watching the water & boats is just meditative. Had the Caesar salad & prawns it was good but I always return for the view. Hoping Bungalow that just opened around the corner won’t affect their business.

So much fun to motor up to their dock and enjoy a fabulous mai tai. Fries for kids and great garlic bread with Gorgonzola on top. Spectacular setting with distant views of San Francisco. This place has a definite “wow” factor.

This place gets crowded on the weekend. There is a front and back bar and tons of indoor and outdoor seating and it still fills up! The back deck overlooking the water is gorgeous. Anyway, we got the huevos rancheros and crab toast (brunch is served until 3 pm) and both were delicious. We also got prosecco and a spicy bloody mary. This is definitely the place to go for brunch in Tiburon or just drinks. Parking is not great btw (there is a lot you can pay to park in) and dress is casual.

Excellent service, great attentive wait staff. The view is epic, lots of outdoor back patio seating with tables spread out. The food was really good, classic American but well done. I appreciated that they had a "beyond beef" option for the burger, it was super tasty.

Good food. The crab toast was delicious and the Shrimp Cobb salad was really good. Fish and chips were sublime and the tartar sauce was sublime. We were very lucky to find dock space. Service was ok but when your water glass is empty for 20 minutes why not bring a pitcher and offer a refill?

While in California my brother recommended we visit Tiburon and we are glad we did.
Walked around a bit but many of the shops and restaurants were closed so we chose Sam's.
We were greeted promptly and decided to sit outside.
Our waiter came right away and took our drink and appetizer order. I ordered the small greens salad with grilled chicken and my son ordered the hot chicken sandwich with fries.
Everything was good but it could be seasoned better. To me it lacked flavor but overall we enjoyed it. Nice restaurant to sit back and relax by the water with friends or special someone.

We were biking in the area and this was a pit stop before we started our trail. We only wanted a "snack" and the host at the front of the restaurant was a good salesman. We got a table in the back patio overlooking the water and boats. The sun was out and there wasn't much shade back there. Luckily our meal was quick - we shared a Cioppino, which was good, but not worth the price. The portion's super small even for one person not sharing.

The service was good, they were very nice but seemed to be untrained enough. They tried very hard tho and helped us when needed.
The food was also ok but the prices weren't maching what you receive. Buttom line, I won't be coming back nor will I recommend the restaurant.

The view is only part of the appeal of Sam's. Their food is so good and it's fun to watch pigeons wrestle for scraps (please don't encourage them though). Bring your dog and a light sweater on a sunny day. If you're gluten free, let them know when getting the crab Benedict you know you want. If I had anything negative to say, it would be that their new bloody Mary mix is sadness compared to the amazing ones they used to make. But I'm still calling it a 5 star experience.

This place is a gem! Me and the wife were walking around and found this place. We had the dog with us so we sat on the patio. The view was awesome we could see the city from our table. The food was amazing and the staff was so super friendly and helpful. They have good beer on tap and a full bar. If you in Tiburon stop by and give this place a try you will not be disappointed! This is the best place Tiburon has to offer!!!!

The food is delicious, service is exceptional, and it's all right on the water. If you're feeling like some seafood and dressing in a Hampton's vibe, this is your place.

The Mai Tai is what their known for, and it did not disappoint one bit. Even on a chilly night, they have a HEATED concrete bench. Like what? Boujee & I'm living for it.

Jealous of the residents who have this in their backyard!

It's certainly been a long time since my last visit to Sam's - over 11 years according to Yelp - and no unexpected drop-by's in between. This time, we were strolling on Main Street after walking on the Old Rail Trail from Blackie's Pasture. We were hungry and noticed the hostess outside not engaging with any waiting diners in particular. When she informed us it would be a ten-minute wait for a table, that seemed quite reasonable so we walked on the waterfront to occupy our time.

As expected, we were seated on the outside deck overlooking the boats, where we saw the tables safely

We trekked all the way out here for a "working" luncheon. But really not much working was had for us. Love the area, with cute little shops and restaurants lining the marina. Getting here was hell though, as someone from the Dept of Transportation decided it was a good idea to shut down the main artery into the peninsula and detour traffic through the small winding residential streets.

The prices here are, well, let's just say not for the faint of heart. Especially during lunch. $17 for calamari and $18 for fish n chips - I'm pretty much immune to the high prices already.

found this place just driving around. waited about 10-15 mins to be seated on the patio. my bf and i had a great view of the water and part of the city. service was great!

Food:
- Bowl and Old Bay Fries ($40) a lot of ice but pretty good. not as strong as i would like but it was fun!

The hostess as well as the manager are absolute racists. They asked me, an Asian man to move for white women to stand where I was standing. Do not come here and support horrible racists. Good drinks and food but it's not worth it to support white supremacists. They may as well have a white only sign. How do you run a business where racists are allowed to fester?

I came back to Sam's on Saturday with a group of friends. The weather was dismal but due to covid we really wanted to get out and enjoy a restaurant experience.

LIZ was our server, she was amazing. She set us up with heat lamps, told us about food and drink specials, and helped with special request for my friend who had food allergies.

We had a great experience and will be back. Plus the seafood was amazing!! Hands down to the new chef.

Having lived in San Francisco for about four decades, Sam's has become synonymous with Tiburon for me. During my college days in the '80's, it was a great place to party on weekends. Come to think of it, that extended through the '90's as well.

Besides wingdinging it at Sam's, they serve up some delicious food and I think they do an exceptional job with seafood. They're a bit spendy, but it's par for the course in Tiburon.

Whenever I have guests in town and we're up in the north bay, I always bring them to Sam's and their impressions are always

I'm surprised to see that this restaurant doesn't have better reviews here on Yelp. I think three and a half Stars is a pretty underwhelming rating.
We came here with some people from work and had an amazing time. The food was tasty, the Marine atmosphere was just so great and romantic the at the end we all left in very uplifting moods.
One of the best dishes was there clam chowder of course. Being a seafood restaurant I was expecting it to be great and Sam's did not disappoint.
A couple of times we got up the table and went to their sea dock up front just to enjoy the evening vibes
