Dr. Farrah Sunderji, OD is the past president of the Calgary Society of Optometrists (CSO). She is an active member of the Alberta College and Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. Dry Eye Disease is a condition where the eyes cannot produce the right quantity or quality of tears. Many factors contribute to Dry Eyes and symptoms are often worse at the end of the day, or after focusing on something, such as a computer screen, for a prolonged period of time. If left untreated, Dry Eye is progressive and can lead to more serious problems, including impaired vision and an increased risk of eye infection.
Although researchers have not found a definitive cause for AMD, a number of factors may put you at greater risk for developing the disease. An estimated one million Canadians have some form of AMD, and the majority are people over the age of 50. Prevalence increases as you get older, . Exposure to secondhand smoke also contributes to the risk of developing AMD; by quitting you'll also reduce the risk to people close to you, .

Cataracts are painless, develop within the lenses of your eyes, and are usually detected during routine eye exams. As you age, lenses naturally harden and may also turn cloudy. A cloudy lens blocks light from the retina and interferes with vision; the effect is similar to looking through a dirty car windshield.

I got my checkup done by Dr. Yang and the team and I can not say enough great things. The team was so thorough in their examination - I have never experienced so many images taken of my eyes and it was super reassuring. They are also so knowledgeable about concerns that I had regarding dry eyes and eye health. I would 10/10 recommend this clinic to my family and friends! Thank you!

It is often hard to pick the right optometrist for you, but at Eyedeology, I can tell you for certain that you will not regret coming here! Dr. Jessica and Dr. Ferrah are not only amazing optometrist but also amazing people - they are the gold standard of what an eye doctor is! I have been to many optometrist in the past who make you feel as if they are trying to 'sell you items' as you walk out the door or are rushing through their exams because they need to see their next client; this is not the case at Eyedeology! They are super thorough with everybody that they meet, will take the time to answer

Saw Dr. Yang for my annual eye exam and she is so wonderful! She is super thorough with the eye exam and explained everything that she was doing.
I’m so glad I switched eye doctors this year. Definitely worth the drive to downtown. Also, the free 1hr parking helps!
I would definitely recommend Dr. Yang to anyone who is looking for a new eye doctor or thinking of switching…you wont regret it!

Dr. Farah is amazing. I know if there is a problem with my eyes, she will make sure that I am taken care of. I am never rushed and she answers any questions I have. The office is modern and clean and the staff are amazing. I’m treated like family. I recommend her to anyone wanting a quality eye doctor.
