Services
The Canine Fitness Centre Ltd. was created not only as the result of the legitimate and pressing need for specialized services in the field of canine physical therapy and rehabilitation, but also as a result of a personal story very close to our hearts. Jasper, a rambunctious chocolate lab belonging to Amalia's son, Rod, suffered a very common but potentially crippling injury at the early age of 3 years.
Physical rehabilitation aids in the prevention of injury and recovery from trauma, therefore expanding the physical potential and quality of life of our canine companions. Exercising in water provides the advantages of buoyancy, stability, and hydrostatic pressure.
Excellent for the sporting, competition, and conformation dogs, our fitness evaluations are for dogs that are not lame, have not been injured and/or have not had surgery, but are just not performing quite right.

The rising obesity epidemic has been described as a significant health problem affecting both people and their pets. Obesity is most often the result of too much food, and/or not enough exercise. Statistics say that over 60% of American adults are overweight or obese, and up to 40% of their pets join them in this condition.
Note: This course is not a substitute to a personal evaluation and therapy program created by a qualified massage therapist, physiotherapist or certified canine rehabilitation practitioner. If at anytime during your massage of your dog they are injured, it is not the responsibility of any person, business, or partner affiliated with this course, and you should seek veterinary advice as soon as possible.
Hands, tools, and lots of knowledge and skill enable our therapists to fully evaluate your sporting dog at any stage of its sporting career! Orthopaedic surgeons who treat the highest callibre of sporting dogs are recommending that you get your canine athlete fully evaluated at least once a year. Major, career upsetting injuries can be detected during a sporting dog assessment by a qualified individual.

I’m so grateful to Canine Fitness Centre for helping this little monkey feel good in his body.
Earlier this year he had a pinched nerve that immobilized him for a couple of weeks. Once he was well enough I… took him to see Margaret and she helped to align his hips, shoulders and spine and gave him a shockwave treatment.
I figured that since he’s 11 and has had knee surgeries on both back legs this would just be a regular 6-week process. But after about three sessions over six months he’s in fantastic shape and alignment and we’ll just do yearly maintenance checkups

The Canine Fitness Centre is incredible! I have been taking a foster pup to his physiotherapy appointments with Erin and cannot believe the change in him. Erin treated his misalignment, sore muscles and pain, gave me exercises and stretches to do at home, and this dog is unrecognizable! I believe he would be nowhere near where he is now without Erin and will definitely recommend treatment with her in the future! Thank you so much for all your assistance Erin & team! We appreciate you!

I can't put into words how thankful I am for the staff at CFC. They were angels in mine & Trig's battle with wobbler syndrome, & I 100% believe they gave us an extra year together. We did physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, lasertherapy, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, & more. The staff treated Trig like their own. Cannot recommend them enough.

Love taking our dogs here. We have taken both our Rotties, sisters Katy and Tequila, here. Both have hip dysplasia and Tequila has Addison’s disease. The staff here were very gentle and patient with both our… girls. The dogs both lie on the magnetic mat and almost fall asleep. We brought Katy here after she lost her back leg to cancer. Again, the staff were amazing with her. Now I’m taking Tequila for swimming therapy. She loves the ‘floating part’. I can’t express my gratitude to the staff at the canine Fitness Centre. If you have a dog with an injury that

I have four dogs and two of them are Bernese mountain dogs who are very young, a good friend of mine recommended that I check this place out for them. We went to our initial appointment yesterday for one of them and it was truly amazing what Margaret did for Roxie and everything I learned. It was a full nose to tail check up and learning about how to help build her muscles up in her hind legs and general strengthening exercises and tips. Our other pup goes next week and I am looking forward to helping my girls stay strong and healthy and hopefully live a longer pain-free life. this is something

If your dog is aging, or you notice some kind of change in their gait, maybe a limp, check out the Canine Fitness Centre. Both my dogs have come here to be treated and both are doing so well! My younger dogs limp went away after a month of following the daily physio routine and I was able to learn some preventative exercises for my senior dog to keep him moving well in his older years. Such a good centre, knowledgeable staff, worth every penny!

We recently found out about this centre for our 17-year-old senior pup with spondylosis and had him going here to maintain/improve his quality of life. We knew his time was coming but we chose to spend the money to provide him comfort in his last few weeks. We saw improvements immediately after every session with either Sandra or Jeannine. The two physiotherapists were very patient, understanding, knowledgeable, and experienced. They were also very gentle and friendly with my dog, who was receptive to their exercises. They were also very willing to teach me exercises I can do with him at home.

Having a dog who is a nervous Nancy around new people is difficult sometimes, but the ladies at Canine Fitness Centre went above and beyond. Margaret was amazing with Tulo and moved at a pace he felt… comfortable with. We did our first treatment with the underwater treadmill and we were impressed! Looking forward to coming to future appointments ☺️

Each and every person at the Canine Fitness Center has been amazing and played an integral role in the rehabilitation of my little dacshund Charlotte after her IVDD incident in August 2018. Their exceptional knowledge, patience, support and understanding have not only helped my dog live a fulfilling, mobile (she can now walk) and happy life, but… have taught me how to be a better pet owner and dog handler. From ensuring Charlotte got her walks, to trimming her nails, laser, physio, treatds and cleaning up little messes, each member of the team has made a very challenging time into a positive

My 8 year old dog had this on going limp in the mornings, I took him into my vets and got rads done but my vet couldn't fully diagnose. I called her back one day and wanted to take x-rays on his shoulder cause his limp was so bad one morning,
told, she told me to go to a physio therapist because they would know more. So I came to canine fitness and seen Jenn Gordon. Jenn was so respectful and nice ! And after only a few session my dog no longer limps at all. She diagnosed my dog and knew exactly what was wrong with him. She pinpointed and knew how to compat the problem. Which was so amazing. It

Great place to tune up my active sports dog. Once in a while he gets a bit too crazy and strains something, and it shows in his everyday exercise. After a session he is back normal. While we've never had to deal with anything serious like some others, they have still been very helpful for us. Also the staff are helpful and our therapist in particular was great - both with my dog and in the knowledge they shared. We will happily come back whenever my dog needs it.

Top notch facility with state of the art equipment and excellent people. When my young Rottweiler had a limp and the vet found no problems with his joints but the issue persisted, I turned to The Canine Fitness Centre. I booked an assessment with Jennifer Gordon and she was excellent with Capone. She found the issues right away and put together a treatment plan for us. That included massage, manipulation, laser and specific exercises for us both in the gym and at home. We also added in some water treadmill sessions and even tried out the pool. Capone is now moving better than he ever has

The therapists are all great! They took the time to get to know my dogs and did a thorough exam on them. They were very patient and gentle. I appreciate that they stay focused when my dogs are doing their hydro and they take down detailed notes. Since going both my 7 year old retrievers have a pep in their step and are more active. I can see and feel both of them getting good muscle tone. Plus the dogs get SUPER EXCITED when we go there and if anything, that says it all.

When I started looking for a physiotherapist for my show and performance dogs, I knew I wanted practitioners who were properly educated and who had a medical background. I wanted practitioners who were going to use sound, proven practices and were going to do no harm. A six week certificate was not going to cut it.
I was very pleased when I found the Canine Fitness Centre, and was even more pleased when I took my boy for his first appointment. Since then my little girl has started going as well. My dogs are busy, they never stop moving, and are both handler oriented and sensitive. Our physiotherapist

Margaret is amazing with her furclients and her knowledge and understanding is unmatchable!!

Ok these guys are probably tired of hearing me talk about them. I am always bragging about how great they are, anyone on the local Dog Facebook pages as well as my friends are also probably tired of hearing about them but Im ok with it because they deserve to be bragged about.....they are just that good!!! (anyone who knows me knows I dont hand out recommendations or brag about people freely. You have to EARN it with me. Ask Monika she will tell you. ;))Even your perfectly seeming pup is in need of a checkup to prevent things from going astray later in life. They are truly amazing everyone of them
