Services
In 2009, I graduated from Dental Hygiene at Niagara College and received the Oral Health Instruction Award. Prior to becoming a Hygienist, I worked as a Dental Assistant. I graduated with honors in 2017 at Toronto College of Dental Hygiene and auxiliaries. Prior to becoming a Dental Hygienist, I was a Dental Assistant.
Dentophobia (odontophobia), or fear of dentists, is real among people of all ages. People fear going to the dentist for many reasons, the most common being fear of pain. Injections from a needle are the primary culprit and a genuine phobia for many people. That's why dentists have developed a method of giving injections that allow for pain-free dental.
Dentistry is the treatment and prevention of disorders and diseases of a patient's teeth, gums, mouth, and jaw. Dentistry performed properly is necessary for complete oral health, and it has a significant impact on the health of a patient's entire body. A dentist is a specialist who has been trained to diagnose, treat, and prevent oral health problems.

Your first visit here at G.T. Dental Centre will typically consist of a cleaning, an examination, and a review of your treatment options. If you accept treatment, we can sometimes begin with that treatment immediately. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan may require a further evaluation and a second appointment.

My kids and I very happy going to GT Dental! What’s more important we no longer dread going to the dentist! From the great location, warm welcome upon arrival, super friendly & knowledgeable staff, beautiful & relaxing dental space, high tech equipment and best of all heated massage chairs. All these features help to alleviate dental visit anxiety!

Visiting Dr. Thoms and his team is like spending time with friends. I have severe dentist anxiety, and Dr. Thoms makes me feel so comfortable and safe. Danielle is thorough and kind. She explains every step of your cleaning, and spends a great deal of time educating and reassuring. The new office is absolutely beautiful, it feels like you’re at a spa! I was so overjoyed to hear the team had returned to Whitby, and I cannot recommend them enough.

Not only is their office impressive (look, music, screens with relaxing scenes during treatments, top of the line treatments)
But most importantly….they are without a doubt hands down the best medical team I have ever come across.
Every person there is so warm, kind and compassionate and there are zero judgements.
You can tell this really comes from the top down as Dr Thoms is amazing and so warm and approachable.
Their office manager Lesley is incredibly lovely and sets the tone for the experience you will have

This is hands down the BEST dental office in Whitby. I have been with Dr. Thoms for 7 years now and I have followed him throughout his dental journey. He is the most meticulous and talented dentist I have ever had. Due to an accident, I have had plenty of dental procedures done and he has made me feel calm and comfortable each time. His new dental office is absolutely beautiful and his staff always go above and beyond. I am so happy and feel so fortunate to be a patient of his!

Best staff ever, top notch facility and equipment and Dr Thoms is the best dentist I’ve ever had. He loves his job, does excellent work and is superb at pain management so you are completely comfortable. I went to G.T. Dental due to a serious problem created by another dentist. They got me an appointment right away. No waiting around for my app't. Everyone was very friendly. They made me feel very comfortable. I saw Dr. Thomas. He is a very nice man and you can tell he cares about what ever you're going through. Loved it there!

Look no further, you found your dentist. From the beginning of my appointment till end , exceptional care. Doctor took the time to explain everything and I felt he had my best interest. The hygienist (Arian) was hilarious and super personable. She did a Thorough job on my teeth. Leslie at reception is the face of the practice , super sweet. The place is clean and modern. I felt like I was hanging out with friends , looking forward to my next appointment. 10/10

My previous dentist retired and I was struggling to find a dentist with whom I could feel comfortable. Dr. Thoms is amazing! He is knowledgeable, skillful and has a great chair-side manner. Totally calm and competent. Going to the "dentist" is painless and a breeze, thanks to the wonderful and professional staff at GT Dental. I have encouraged other family members and friends to change to GT Dental.
