Our appointment book allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately.
Peter Schwartz was born in South Africa and spent the first 10 years of his career in Africa caring for a wide range of animals, in addition to domestic and farm animals, he was able to help and treat various wild animals including zebra's, cheetahs, monkeys and other local wildlife. A challenging experience occurred when he had to help retrieve a barbeque fork from the stomach of a circus crocodile who had swallowed it at feeding time.
1. Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service and minimizing costs, we do not bill. 2. We accept debit cards, Visa and Mastercard and cash. All cards must be signed by the owner of the card. Another popular option for your family and pet is insurance coverage.

Very friendly, caring staff. My can was diagnosed with diabetes, I was very nervous and did not think I would be able to give him a needle but they were very informative and helpful at teaching and walking me through how to give the insulin needles. Before leaving they made sure i was comfortable & capable of giving the needle, understood the importance of the feeding schedule, insulin schedule and the new diet.

My little man Leroy was hurt by some bigger dogs at the dog park. My vet couldn't fit him in but Assiniboine came to the rescue. The offered something to calm me down (a little sundae) and quickly figured out what was wrong. Even though he was originally terrified, by the time they were done he was relaxed in the arms of one of the vets. I may switch to them for regular vet service as it is closer to my home and they were so awesome. Leroy and I thank you, woof!

My older dog's health suddenly declined, and my longtime vet couldn't get me in for a week. Assiniboia found room for me that morning. He passed a few days later, but in that time, Betty and the Veterinarians and other staff were as kind, respectful and accommodating as I could have possibly hoped for, and I'm grateful for their help.

I usually attend another vet, however my poor pup was the victim of his enthusiastic younger brother, and a collision between the two resulted in a shoulder injury. My guy could barely put any weight on it and was whimpering in pain. I called my usual vet, who was booked. 4 other places, including Bridgewater, all booked. I called Assiniboia and once I explained and she was happy to help, got me in within a couple of hours. They had warned me that because of the short notice I may have to wait, but they actually got me in a few minutes early. Dr. Schwartz was professional and took his time. They

I love this clinic. I’m a first time dog owner and I’ve had a lot of concerns about my pups health. I’m never made to feel dumb about any questions I have. The team is knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. Manson is happy and on his way to being perfectly healthy! I recommend this location to my friends and family.

Absolutely amazing, couldn't recommend enough. Very good with my cats and so kind and helpful. As well as they always send my kitties home with free cat nip or a toy when we get their annuals done!! They also gave me a full but open free bag of cat food when I switched my cats over to a better diet! Couldn't ask for a better vet!

We switched to this vet clinic initially when our original vet of many years wouldn’t see our (sick) dog on a Saturday because they were full. At Assiniboia they made time to see him even staying open late to ensure my dog didn’t suffer over the weekend. You can tell they truly care about the health of the animals they treat not just about making money. Betty is the most kind animal tech we have encountered, thankful we found this clinic.

Awesome clinic! As a first time dog owner they have been fantastic in being patient and answering all my questions. Even after a scare with my pup after an appointment they stayed late to make sure she was ok for the weekend. It’s nice to see the techs be so sweet with her too! Will recommend to anyone!

Great animal hospital. I have taken my dogs to them for 30 years and they never have failed me or them. Dr. Schwartz is a wonderful vet, kind and compassionate. His staff are great and very patient with both me and my dogs. I feel that any treatment that is perscribed is accurate and certainly effective. I lconsider the price for treatment to be very reasonable after all these are my precious animals that are being treated, and I appreciate the standarf of care that they recieve. Full marks go to them!!!!!

Got told my dog would need pain medication, by the time i got her home, she was jumping and playing and clearly not in pain. I was hesitant
to take the meds, but i was looked at like i was cruel if i did not buy it. 2 days later i noticed i really bad scrape on her paw, I had called the hospital and they had told me that is where the shaved her to draw blood, and to bring her down so they could look at it. (how many dollars would that have been). My question is; why would they not tell me that they had cut her paw while shaving her, and to keep an eye out for it, or even to bandage it. I
