This place has an Italian
Woodbridge obnoxious vibe . A lot of the staff are young and from Woodbridge, and they all just shout over each other . Felt like high school again . It's the total opposite of calm. I've gone here three times and it's all been a miss and I always leave frustrated and with a headache as there always seems to be so much miscommunication and cutting corners , which it's exhausting. I found a better place where they do a better job without all the noise and drama .
The only one working there that I have encountered who is consistent , helpful and competent

I love JC Salons and the amazing people that work there. I have been going to Johnny for over 20 years He is well know for his artistic creativity and amazing cuts that last a long time and are easy to manage
I have been going to Liana weekly for 30 years (I think that I am here original customer) She is amazing for skin care, pedicure, nails, body treatments, make up and product lines etc. The best in the business
I go to the hair stylists weekly. Dina, Liz, Benny are great. The shampoo people (Little Amanda - you give the best head massages!) are all amazing

DO NOT GO HERE!
1. Darren did my hair and he is offensive, talks a lot, talks about women in an inappropriate way and says in general very inappropriate uncomfortable things. He pretended as if he knew who I was as if he had dyed my hair before so he was dishonest. As he was dying my hair he kept walking away and was talking to other employees and clients... after dying my hair he didn't check up on it when it was dry. The side of my head where he kept going to talk to people is MUCH lighter than the other side. DO NOT SEE HIM OR ANY OTHER PERSON AT THIS PLACE I'VE TRIED THREE DIFFERENT

Three months ago ,I had a hair cut in an other famous salon $$$ in Rosedale and been frustrated with the look of my hair since then until I met my life saver JOHNNY ! He's literally an artist when it comes to the best hair cut that suits your hair and your face. I had some high expectation once I entered the salon but I was waaaay more impressed once my hair was done. I felt and looked like a model !
Thanks Johnny. You're the best hairdresser ever !

The haircut has been good but the service has been variable. Today, the stylist was 20 minutes late with nary a thought from her that it might be a tad bit of an inconvenience or an 'I am sorry I sauntered up the stairs when I felt like it'. Too many other hairstyling options in the neighborhood for me to have to deal with that attitude.

Such a mixed experience here. I've probably been about 5-6 times as it's close to home. The people were friendly, and they are about 3 for 5 on quality of the cuts. 2 of the cuts i got were good (though one was quite $$). One, she just didn't know when to stop (I had to tell her enough). The other 2, in particular the last one, were awful. I actually hate my hair right now, and am so angry I didn't trust my gut and leave when I knew they weren't going to ask me what I wanted again.

I highly recommend Darren as a colorist. He has fixed my platinum blonde hair twice (which is very hard to do). The first time, I came in with orange roots. Another colorist got rid of them, but left my hair looking very flat and dull. Darren put in a bunch of highlights (the best highlights I've ever had) and my hair looked spectacular. The blonde was light, bright, and cool, which was exactly what I was looking for. The second time, a colorist at a different salon put bleach in my hair and completely messed up the tone. My roots, middle section, and ends were all different shades of blonde

First time at this barber. Friendly people who know what they're doing and great conversations.

Came back for a hair cut. Put me on a 2 hour wait where I clearly see room open right now and free within 1 hour. I decide to leave without making a fuss but then the owner stops me by saying he'll bump it down to a 1 hour wait
My assumption:
Last visit gave them a 5 dollar tip
They're visibility not happy with it. As I walk out the door I heard "cheap" in Vietnamese.
They probably remember me and didn't want to be bother with another 5 dollar tip

They really need to reconsider their receptionist... She is so awful!!! Not a good career choice for her. She sounds like someone's loud drunk smoker aunt that makes you feel like and idiot when you talk to her. Awful! Just by having a conversation with her I didn't want to go there! But I must say I have been before and had a colour done and the guy was wonderful. But that receptionist was terrible! Any company that keeps someone like that on staff I have to question their decision making. I'll pick another salon thank you!

Reason: a few times later, the same barber got a bit too comfortable with me, and was not doing as a good job as before.
I asked for coffee at my last appointment, and was told the day just started, the machine needs time to warm up... Pretty much was refused coffee, IMO the barber was too lazy to do it. For $50 the experience of being in such a place, I found this to be extremely rude, and not worth the 100% charge from other places.

I used to go to JC Salons, but after three terrible experiences I never went back and now have a wonderful person who does my hair that I met through a friend.
I wanted a new color and was really excited for it. I could tell my colorist was not into it as it probably was going to be more work than she would have liked, and was asking me to stick with my usual color.
I don't see how me spending more money would be a bad thing for the salon? but anyways I convinced the colorist to do what i wanted and showed her a picture. Well the color came out so awful, that everyone was telling me I

Worst place ever. Don't waste your time!!!! I booked an appointment at 6 on Tuesday for hair color and/or highlights with a "senior" stylist. I go there and he refused to do my hair simply because he couldn't do the color. He spent half an hour talking and showing me magazines and then he goes" it's only half an hour left so there won't be enough time for anything now!!"" So then after the trip I travelled and I had my daughter"s first birthday the following day, I really wanted my hair to be don't for the occasion, so he offered to only do

I came to JC because I followed my stylist Rudy here. He gives amazing cuts and really listen to what you want. I'd highly suggest him for a cut. Unfortunately, everyone here specializes in either colour or cuts, so new clients can't get colour done by Rudy. Which is a shame, because he does an amazing job.
That being said, I found the front desk staff a little stand off-ish. After I filled out their contact form, I sat there for a while even tho my stylist clearly wasn't busy. Then I was led down to this strange basement and given a lab coat type thing to put on after being told

This use to be a great place to go, but I think success has gone to everyone's head. I've been going to this place for a couple of years, and my last three experiences have ranged from "meh" to "disaster".
Last visit (May 2011) was the final straw. The colorist messed up my colour (the same color he's been doing for the past year) and the stylist managed to hack a sizeable chunk of hair while "texturizing". She didn't say a word, just combed over the spot and left it like that for me to discover the next day.

Sarah from JC cut my hair recently. She's a junior assistant stylist and she did a fantastic job cutting my hair. The environment was very relaxing and the other staff were friendly too. I felt like they made the effort to provide really great service and I walked out pleased and would happily recommend it to anyone I know :)

I have extra long extra thick hair and needed a full set highlighting done. The colourist scolded me for not telling them when I booked this appt that this was the case - that extra time should have been booked, given the mass that is my hair. I'd like to know why they can keep things in their comp. system such as that I work in a veterinary clinic so they can chat me up about this, but fail to have on file what my hair type is. Regardless, she started
