My name is Dr. Hailey Bertrand and I am very excited to be the Veterinarian and Owner of Parkside Animal Hospital. Being able to provide the kind of veterinary medicine that we strive for at Parkside has been a lifelong goal for me. It all started with my childhood cat, Linus, who lovingly tolerated being endlessly fussed over, dressed up, and toted around and has progressed throughout my life.
Our experienced, friendly team is pleased to offer you and your pets knowledgeable care in a welcoming environment. Explore each of the pages below to learn more about our services. We schedule a full 30 minutes for our examinations so that we can dedicate a proper amount of attention to your pet's needs.
We believe that annual wellness exams form the foundation of your pet's health, happiness, and longevity. And since our pets' biology changes much faster than ours (a once-a-year checkup for a pet is like a person having one every five years), it's important that we don't skip their annual appointments, even when they seem perfectly well.
We've all forgotten to brush our teeth at some point or another. But imagine forgetting to brush your teeth for five years! Pets can't pick up toothbrushes on their own, they need our help when it comes to keeping their mouths clean and healthy. Just like people, this affects life expectancy. Plus, rotten teeth hurt.

That cares about your fur babies just as much as you do other than Parkside 😍 I always know that our babies will be not only taken care but loved while doing so ! They help you understand even the most complicated things and reassure you that no matter what your pet is going through they make sure you feel like “we got this!” And they will not give up until they have the answers :) couldn’t imagine owning any pets without having these girls in our corner !!!!

Absolutely love Parkside and all of the staff but especially Sam and Dr. Bertrand. They are all so welcoming, kind and knowledgeable. You can tell that they genuinely love animals. My dog and I can't even walk by the clinic without her trying to go in and visit them. I think when your dog loves going to the vet, it's a good sign. :)

You make animals attend appointments on their own, and this was not told to me, when I booked the appointment over the phone over a month ago. I would have never have accepted that. what a horrible way to treat families and pets in particular who are already stressed in a new environment. Unacceptable, deplorable service. And, when I tried to voice my concerns, I was hung hp on...and no, I was not swearing or yelling just upset and almost in tears!

One week ago today our cat Charlie had an operation to remove a pretty rare nasal sarcoid (non-malignant) that had been growing for about a year. Dr. Bertrand and her surgical team removed the lump and some of… Charlie’s nose and she is doing so well and is able to go back to her “head butting” happy greetings after a year! This is a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Parkside for taking on Charlie as a patient during Covid, doing an amazing job with the planning and procedure, keeping in touch following the operation and saving us thousands of $$ by not transporting her to OVC in Guelph

Dr hansford is an amazing vet, she’s really attentive, and really cares about the well being of your animals, Dr hansford really went above and beyond when my cat was sick and she was always checking in with me about him! I’m so thankful for her she really eased my fears when I thought he was going to die. this vet clinic doesn’t see your animal as a pay check they care for them as much as you do! I always feel comfortable leaving my animals in there care!

We had to make an emergency visit to Parkside Animal Hospital because Waldo our 6 month old kitten cut her leg and required being put under anesthetic to have stitches, we were so worry while we sat in the truck waiting to hear how she was doing the emergency staff were great explained everything they had to do and took very good care of her she is healing well now and will have her stitches removed in another week.

Can’t thank the girls at Parkside enough for their love and care for each patient, especially their efforts to still provide that same level during the pandemic. Dr. Bertrand gave our family so much support when our corgi developed a brain bleed, started taking grand-mal seizures and had to be euthanized. Even though we couldn’t be there to say… goodbye when they did it, I knew Charlie was getting all the loving from the techs and Dr. Bertrand. Can’t thank you all enough for your support through that tough time. Recommend 1000% to anyone from getting their pup vaccinated

Words cannot express how grateful I am to the Parkside team. From day to day usual check ups and treatments... to diagnosing my dog with a rare complex disease and managing her life long medication regimen. My… animals are very well taken care of when they go to Parkside. As an animal owner I am at ease when they are there. I can confidently say that Dakota would not be here today if we didn’t meet Dr. Bertrand. I recommend Parkside to all the fur parents out there. Thank you Parkside, my animals can always count on you!

I had such a great experience here. The staff were so accommodating with getting my pets in last minute before the holidays.
