In 2004, locals Chuck and Dor Wutzke bought a small auto shop with a mission to offer exceptional auto, RV and fleet services to Calgary and area residents. Now, over ten years later, the family business has flourished. Bonavista Truck & Auto Repair is happy to service all makes and models of cars, light to medium trucks (gas and diesel), motorcycles and RV's.
The way cars are built has changed and that means that the equipment and training we receive has too. Over the years I’ve been here a few times with my little hatchback. I wouldn’t bring my vehicle anywhere else. Treated very well and they are honest! They get the work done that needs to be done and explain it well. One time my car was leaking anti freeze from the engine and they miraculously fixed it the best way they could as I was on a budget being a student. They were able to work with me and gave me a few options. The owner even drove me to work while they kept my vehicle for over night. This review is long overdue but necessary. I referred my boyfriend here and the service has also been

I have been taking my older vehicle to Bonavista Auto for a few years now on a recommendation from a friend.
Chuck and Angela run an efficient, honest and reasonable shop.
The work on my truck has always been exceptional and completed in a quick and timely manner.
They even look for ways to save me money!

They were referred to me so I had some minor work done in the past... expensive but par for what mechanics charge. Then major job to replace the radiator $ close to $1000 00... they replaced it but none the hoses (on a vehicle 30 plus years old)... long story short... leaking a few weeks later and they want to charge me for labour and hoses... sorry you lost my business!.... I found a better mechanic that fixed your shotty job for free....

When I first moved to Calgary I took my car into Bonavista and decided to play dumb to test their honesty. I told them I had never done any repairs to my car and I knew I needed rear breaks and possibly some other maintenance. I asked them to check the whole car over and let me know what needed to be repaired. They came back and said they did the oil change I requested and could still get another 6 months to a year on my rear breaks, nothing else was wrong. This is an honest shop with a great group of guys working here. You can't beat the prices and you can trust them. I take all my vehicles here

Update, I've been back for a few of oil changes and new breaks (I needed them pretty bad). Again stellar service and very reasonable pricing. I have absolute trust in them, highly recommended!!

They got my car in for service very quickly and managed to fix everything for less than half of what the dealership mechanic quoted me. My car runs great now and I've got money to spare. The staff were very kind and helpful and explained the problem with my car to me instead of just giving me a laundry list of things to pay for.
