Ordered near $60 worth of food for takeout. Combination dinners were supposed to come with a miso soup & salad. Both of these were missing after already having to go back for the mistaken tempura order.
Tempura and agadashi tofu had oil literally pooling at the bottom of the container. Staff tried to be helpful although disorganized. I believe this restaurant is under new management. Sadly, we will not be returning.

They are all family members, with low professionalism. Their children running around. They chat at the front desk and serve food slowly. The sashimi is not fresh and not well-cut. the rice is hard.

I have been eating here a few times but the food in this restaurant is truly tasty. I love sushi so much and I’m happy to try it in a cozy restaurant at an affordable price. Their servers are friendly and responsible. They seem like a family business because I met the manager with her husband and kids mostly, but I like that. Her kids are adorable tho. Give it a try if you also love sushi and the ideal restaurant environment for your family and friends.

The sashimi, nigiri and rolls are absolutely disgusting. the fish are not fresh and you can smell the fishy taste from afar. The spicy salmon and tuna rolls with pankos inside are very soggy and stale. The only thing edible is probably the california roll. we tossed more than half of the food away because it is that gross!

So we had two kids and landed in Halifax after 6. By time we got our baggage and got a taxi and found our place it was close to 8. Here is the fun thing about Halifax at night to my Westren friends, not many places accepts minors. We had a hell of atime finding somthing. so we were grateful for this place. Not much to look at inside or outside, but service makes up for so much more. When they saw my husband coming with my daughter in a wheelchair they helped him lift it to get in. They were really kind and helpful with the menu. We all choice bento boxes except for my kiddo who had had a noodle

Some decent food and good service as well, but I can't give it too high ratings, for 2 reasons:
(1) portion is light. I ordered Hibachi beef, and the meat/vegetable part is too little, to just match the rice amount;
(2) though the place is cozy and nice, but mostly underground and maybe better in winter.

We ordered three sets of rolls for two people and it was the perfect amount of food. We loved all three rolls we tried.
Unfortunately I'm allergic to shellfish, but the waitress was really careful with my food. The green salmon roll was my favorite and it was melt in your mouth perfection.
The service was amazing, the seating area is a little strange but you can also order out and they do delivery. When the waitress wasn't sure about the beer my friend asked about, she went and brought him the bottles so he could read them himself.
The price for the sushi is actually really good for what they

We went during our visit in Halifax and it was the worst experience we had in the city,
1. the crab meat salad came with some soggy tempura crumbs and the mayo was sour
2. The sashimi was disgusting as not only the surf clams were discoloured (partly orange, partly pink), we asked the server to change it and they ended up replacing it with salmon sashimi as all the surf clams went bad,
3. however the other sashimi and sushi were not fresh at all, they were slimy and had a weird taste and texture
4. All the rice on the nigiri and maki were hard and cold, like some type of leftover rice for days

I typically get pretty basic sushi like salmon maki, salmon sashimi, Alaska rolls, tuna rolls, etc. When ordering online, beware that they don't follow simple order notes such as "no cucumber" in the Alaska roll. This has happened several times. This evening I received salmon sashimi and salmon rolls made of frozen salmon. The rolls were also very small!! I won't be ordering again. One thing I will say is that their spicy sauce is great!

After attempting to go to two other sushi places while visiting Halifax (one was closed down and the other not a sit-down restaurant), this was our third choice based on our research. Very happy we ended up here - we really enjoyed our dinner! We have high standards for sushi but this hit the spot. Really happy to see hamachi on the menu. The spicy salmon with avocado roll was the perfect blend of flavours and had beautiful presentation. We also tried the katsu which was very good, big portion too!

My husband and I went to this restaurant is because of the interior setting look so Japanese but we both disappointed on their food. The love boat for two doesn't look good predation and fish not fresh enough. Sake and tea both taste like mixed with water that so ridiculous. The woman washroom don't have soup and paper out of the roller that make me doesn't feel clear. We both believe won't come back.

This hole in the wall is a Halifax gem! I have been here many times as I love the feel of this place, its great prices, delicious food, and generous potions. The prices for sushi roll lunch combo are unbeatable. The friends I have recommended this restaurant to have all loved it. The perfect times to go there are on rainy days. What's not to love about enjoying a warm bowl of miso and some fresh sushi in "a cave" as it rains outside. When it's busy you may have to wait awhile for your food since the place is small and doesn't have many staffs.

Stopped in here for lunch on a Monday while our cruise ship was in port.

I had the chicken teriyaki and my husband had the steak teriyaki. Both entrees were delicious and came with soup or salad and rice. The food was obviously fresh and high quality. The restaurant itself is so cool because it's underground and the walls are exposed brick and stone, you wouldn't find something like that in the States because of building codes and what not. We loved it! The service was just alright, a little slow. But overall, it was a great experience!

Fujiyama is a bit hidden away but I am glad we found it. My husband loves the sushi, but we decided to try the bento boxes this time. I got the chicken one, which I can't recommend unfortunately - the chicken was flavourless and tough. But the rest of the box was delicious! My husband ate my shrimp tempura and he loved it. I had his veggie tempura - the broccoli and sweet potatoes were definite highlights.

I like the atmosphere of the place, it felt like a secret underground club that I got to be part of. Super fun!

Had supper this evening. Had 4 different kinds of sushi. We were basically happy with 2 of types. It was an ok experience. My other issue is they seem to rush the dining experience. This is not a bad thing for lunch but in the evening I felt rushed.

Super cozy hole in the wall (literally). I've been here with my boyfriend a few times - super romantic. Definitely recommend ! They also have fantastic options for vegetarians.
The service during my most recent visit was slow; however, the waitress was the lovely and the chefs presented some complimentary edamame to make up for the wait (and really, edamame is delicious so it was worth it, having no rush!).

I absolutely LOVE this place! It is my favorite sushi restaurant. The staff is friendly and it has a great atmosphere.

There is an awesome little room with one table in it that is perfect for dates. It's very private and the lighting is incredible.

We come here with fiends, with our kids and when we have a night alone. Sushi is our favorite dining out food, and it is AMAZING here!

I went here alone on my lunch break the other day and didn't expect to love the space so much. When they sat me in a booth just for me, I thought I might feel awkward as a single dinner. However, this place is AWESOME and with all the nooks and crannies there was no one else in sight. It was really cozy.

I ordered one of the lunch specials: 2 rolls plus a miso soup or salad. The miso soup was a little watery tasting but not disappointing. For the rolls, I ordered a dynamite roll and the sweet potato roll and was not disappointed in either. The rolls had lots of flavor (although they&apos

I've been to Fujiyama numerous times and I've wanted to write a review for a while, but I didn't really know what to say. Until now: I have found my all time favourite sushi roll here. Fujiyama's "Gray's Roll" wins hands down. It is a deep fried roll with eel, avocado and cream cheese. Our server described it as the poutine of sushi - Awesome!! Don't let the three lettered fish deter you from trying this roll.

One of my all time favourite, classic, rolls is the sweet potato roll. Fujiyama puts an interesting twist on this original by adding avocado. It&apos
