Dr. Mitchel Shields received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto. He graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty Of Dentistry in 1992. He began providing dentistry as an associate dentist in Toronto and Pickering before opening his Ajax dental office. Dr. Shields founded Discovery Dental with the concept of a small town dental office, but with big city services and technology.

My visit to the dental office yesterday for my cleaning was wonderful. The front office staff are amazing! They greet you by name with smiles on their faces. They make you feel so welcome. Erin the hygienist was terrific. She spent so much time cleaning and polishing my teeth. She took the time to explain everything she was doing and made helpful suggestions. Just a great experience overall. Highly recommend this dental office!

Awesome experience throughout! I certainly felt like a valued customer, being the fact that this was my first-time visiting this location. No other words can truly explain the incredible experience that I had. I came in for my first appointment and consultation to receive Invisalign treatment, which I am content and confident in my decision to go ahead with this type of treatment. I’m getting Invisalign done here and they saved me so much money! I really wish I had gone here before. The staff are incredible! Very welcoming, warm, knowledgable with a great sense of humour! Everyone from Elaine all the way to the dentist, were incredibly helpful and I cannot thank them enough! If you’re on the fence about a consultation for Invisalign just book one and see how fantastic it goes!

Discovery Dental was professional and welcoming when I went for my new patient visit. The whole staff was wonderful but I especially appreciated the support I received from Erin (dental hygienist) and Dr. Shields. I was hesitant to switch dentists, as I had gone to mine for many years, but they made the switch worth it. I recommend everyone looking for a change to try Discovery Dental.

Amazing experience from beginning to end. Receptionists were super friendly, Dr Shields was amazing and friendly, and Heather was super helpful as well. I went in to see if I could get Invisalign and they were very quick with booking the appointment and amazing customer service along with very good knowledge. I definitely would recommend. Recently I got dental implants at discovery dental. Dr. Shields explained the procedures very meticulously and answered my questions thoroughly. The entire staff had the right combination of personality and professionalism. Covid-19 protocols were always in place. If you are considering implants Discovery Dental would be a wise choice.
