Embu Hair is an Aveda Concept Salon located in Kingsway adnd The Junction in Toronto, Ontario. We have named our salon after a very beautiful Brazilian city near Sao Paolo: Embu das Artes (Embu of the Arts). Embu has been a haven for painters, artists and sculptors for over eighty years and is a landmark of Brazilian historic and contemporary culture.
We offer many different type of colour at Embu Hair, all designed to bring out the best look just for you. Balayage - a freehand colouring technique adding lightness throughout the whole head, resulting in a soft transition from darker to lighter tonality. Ombr/colour melting - a technique used to create a softer transition from one colour to another.
Make sure that you go over what you would like with your stylist during you consultation and they can quote you an accurate price for your service. We recommend that you book a trial for your hair and make-up 3 weeks prior to your wedding day. Please set aside approximately 2 hours for this appointment.
Our professional hair team will carry out in-depth consultations free of charge to assess your hair and any style changes before your appointment. Claudio and his staff are incredible to deal with, so easy going and listen to all my questions and give thought full answers. Can't wait to see the new place!

Honestly sad to write this review. I'd being driving by this salon for years and always thought it looked like a nice spot, but I was very attached to my old stylist. Then a pandemic flipped the world upside down and I thought I'd give a new neighbourhood place a try. I wish I hadn't. I specifically requested a senior stylist as I have a lot of hair and ended up with someone who barely spoke to me and who gave me the worst hair cut I've had.

Terrible experience as a possible new client here. One of their staff quit and they called me to cancel mine and my daughters baptismal hair style appointments only 10days away. Super unprofessional and many concerning phone calls that weren’t clear by their staff. Very upsetting experience. Will not go here or book appointments here ever again.

We had Jocelyn as our hairstylist and I can't recommend her enough! She has a wide range of experience, and is extremely knowledgeable about cuts for different hair, maintenance, lifestyle, and keeps all these things in mind while working with you. Both my daughter and myself really enjoyed her company as she is very personable on top of everything else. We love our new hair style and will definitely be going back. The salon itself was well maintained and constantly being cleaned, spaced out the clients, and still provided an enjoyable relaxing experience.

I went to Jocelyn for a hair cut & she was absolutely amazing. I was looking for a simple cut to remove around 3-4" of dried & dyed ends. When I arrived at the salon I was pleased to see that they requested to take your temperature & for you to sanitize your hands upon entry. There were 2 other clients present & we were all kept spaced at least 2 salon chairs apart. Jocelyn was very warm & welcoming - very easy to talk to but was not intrusive at all. She asked for some reference photos of what I would like & was helpful in suggesting options when I asked for recommendations. I highly recommend

I got my hair cut my Jessica there this week. I am very happy with how it turned out. She listened to what I wanted exactly and a few times during the haircut she made sure she was doing what I wanted which I appreciated. She was very friendly and professional. I also met the owner. Claudio, who was very inviting and welcoming! The experience was very positive and I would 10/10 recommend.

Jocelyn did an amazing job with my hair! I got my hair toned, cut and styled and am so impressed with the results. In addition, Jocelyn gave me tips on how to manage my hair. I've been to several hair salons before and this was the only time I've ever been truly satisfied with the results. Thank you so much! I will definitely be back :)

I recently got my first haircut since the Covid shutdowns and was very happy with my experience with Jocelyn at Embu. I was happy to see the new health precautions being taken by the business, and appreciated that everyone was wearing a mask, and that they were taking customers' temperatures. The haircut itself was fantastic! Jocelyn was very pleasant, and was able to understand exactly the best cut for my hair while keeping the length. She took the time to assess my hair, and her suggestions were very helpful. The Aveda products she used smelled really good, and I enjoyed the massage she gave

I have been getting my hair done by Claudio for close to 30 yrs and there is no one I trust more with my hair. Always a pleasure coming to Embu and getting pampered.
This was my first time having Desiree colour my hair and all I can say is she is absolutely fantastic. Listens to what you want and the results were better than I could have asked for.

Just got an updo here with their "updo specialist" for my wedding. It did not turn out the way I wanted. First, I had to wait 30 minutes for the stylist to finish with another client, which only gave her 30 minutes to do my hair (I was on a tight schedule). I showed her a photo of what I wanted, which seemed like a fairly easy style to execute. But my hair turned out to look nothing like the photo. The first Haircut in this salon was really wonderful experience. I had great cut and style. I was so happy of it for weeks. The stylist did a great work. I had to tell everybody she deserved all the credit for the great job.
Unfortunately this great experience didn't last long as my next visit was totally the opposite. Same stylist but this time wasn't good at all. This time she didn't listen to me and she did rush quick haircut. I know I am terrible to explain what I want but last time she was really awesome and had lots of patience on my terrible.

I really, really, really would love to support a local business like this, especially when it's dead on a Thursday night, BUT I think it is a horrible business practice to surprise your clients at the cash register with a service cost way over the price listed on the site. Granted, on the site, it says $65+ for a colour TOUCH UP, that's just the roots all over, meaning it starts at $65....However, IF the price is going to be more than that, it should be incumbent on the stylist/colourist to tell the customer what the price will be or won't be, ie you have curly hair, so it's

I went once. Never again. Went for a cut (cropped back, bobbed sides) and left with some weird morphed style that looked like something I may have had about 15 years ago. Not what I asked for and I complained about that. No response other than I should give it a chance and see if I liked it. If not, then I could come back to have it 're-done'. Don't think so.
