Attention: PLEASE NOTE: Due to other emergency clinics in the area being closed, you may experience longer than normal wait times for non-critical patients. We are now triaging patients outside by our triage Registered Veterinary Technician. Once you arrive at the clinic, please call us at 705-741-5832.
We will be screening for out of country travel, fever or illness. Patients will be brought into the clinic, while clients wait in their vehicle. The technician and veterinarian will call you by phone to take a history and discuss a treatment plan. We understand this is a stressful time, and we want to make sure our clients, and team members remain safe.

Thank you so much KVEC for saving our grandsons beloved Chewy on Monday night! You saved Chewys life and we are so grateful for all you did for him. Chewy is a giant Saint Bernard Newfoundland mix and he ate a bunch of socks and was very ill. You operated on him right away and saved him. You were all so kind and compassionate and so professional and so highly skilled.
Many dog owners admire the unique looks and personalities of purebreds, but also worry about the fate of millions of pets euthanized each year. What many people don't realize is that there are specific breed rescue organizations for almost every breed of dog, placing dogs in need to new homes. If you're thinking of getting a pet fish, you should know that your veterinarian has a lot of good advice about pet ownership.

The worst experience I have ever had with a veterinary clinic. Brought our dog here while on vacation up north as he had a small cut. We had to wait for 3.5 hours in our car in -35 degree temperature because everything was closed. Our dog had a small cut and They wanted to sedate him before determining if he needed stitches or staples one would be $800 and the other option $1000. We were told his cut had stopped bleeding so we asked them to bandage it up and we would go home and take him to our regular vet. We were met with a very rude attitude that we were not choosing one of the options they

Although I had a very short experience at the clinic, the staff's empathy did not go unnoticed. It was very apparent that Dr. Prior and her staff were very knowledgable and well equipped. I will be recommending their services to everyone!
Thank you for the card, an extremely beautiful and thoughtful touch.

I took my baby Bordeaux in cause he was limping and crying. By the time I got to the vet he wasn't walking at all. We were told it would be a 3 hour wait, understanding that high priority patients are seen first. I watched 2 dogs walk in wagging their tails happy to be there while we sat in our car trying to calm my 6 month old pup who is in obvious pain! They finally called to have him come in but unfortunately we left to try somewhere else that maybe could see him sooner. I explained to the doc this and she was rude and yelled at me while I'm balling my eyes out, "well that's your choice!" She

I have brought my dogs here a number of times when there was an emergency and I have never had an issue. Dr. Alliace (I don't think I spelt that right) was the vet that helped me recently. He took time to listen and was extremely honest and helpful. I know a lot of reviews say they are out for the money but I did not get that impression from this particular vet what so ever. Being an emergency vet, the walk-in rate is more expensive than a regular vet, which is to be expected. As long as I live in the Kawarthas and have a pet emergency I will be bringing my dogs here.

November 22 our little girl (cat) was helped by the wonderful vet and staff to cross over. She took I’ll suddenly on the Sunday and by Monday morning we knew she had become worse. Thinking it was a stroke we called our vet with the response we’ll have have nothing for a week or more. After a few calls to other vets in our area my husband called kawartha emergency vet and they said just come as soon as you can (no appointment time). We took her there and she was taken care of very well. Sadly they checked her over and came to the realization it was more of a brain tumour situation. Our hearts

Please don’t let bad reviews and long wait times scare you away from coming here. I had to drop my cat off for an emergency visit and felt terrified leaving him there alone, but, rest assured I received 3 phone calls during his stay assuring me he was okay and updating me along the way. The receptionist was very kind as well. The bill was reasonable.
Though initially I almost felt like I was making a bad decision leaving him here, know your gut feeling is mostly coming from the anxiety caused by your gut baby being unwell, not the clinic.
I hope I don’t have to come back here, but, if I do

I took my dog here 5 months ago with what I thought was an obstruction in his throat. My dog was in there for 3 days. They checked everything but his throat, full body X-ray (not including his throat)as well as blood work. The Vet showed us the X-ray saying “I think this is the spleen”, “ I think this is the kidney”. Not very competent reading X-rays.We were told my dog had fluid on the heart and cancer. They had my dog on oxygen pretty much for the whole 3 days saying he was panting which means he’s struggling to breathe. They finally checked his throat when I continually told them my
