Formally trained and apprenticed in the UK, Debbie founded Scruples over 30 years ago after winning the Provincial Hairstyling competition in Alberta. Heather is a managing partner of Scruples, with over 20+ years of styling experience. With a natural artistic flair for hair, Heather is an expert colorist and advanced cutter, specializing in modern and emerging style trends.
As one of the original founders of Scruples in 1985, I started with a vision to create a neighborhood salon that embraced the latest hair trends, products and industry innovations, while maintaining a familiar, welcoming environment. After my first partner retired, Heather joined as a managing partner in 2007, having been a stylist for several years at the salon.
At Scruples we are committed to providing a culture that is supportive, motivating and respectful. We care about each other and celebrate our successes that are achieved from being a strong, compassionate team. I went there to get my head shaved because I was planning to donate my hair. Everyone was very welcoming and made me feel comfortable through the process. I would like to thank Ivanka for the buzz cut, and I look forward to going back to style my hair once it starts to grow.

I have been going here to see Ivanka for three years now. My hair is very tricky to cut because of natural waves. My hair never has an awkward stage with Ivanka’s talented hands. I also love that it’s reasonably priced and it’s a nice clean salon.

The hairdresser that I had during both of my visits was an absolute superstar. After both of my visits, the stylist left my hair looking amazing. However... The front desk staff that I had interacted with both times were particularly lackluster. After my first visit, I had rebooked at the front desk. The receptionist seemed to be very distracted as we were looking for a rebook day and time. We had eventually settled on a day and time, verbally confirmed it, and I had put it in my calendar. On that day, I called in to say that I was on my way, and they said that I had missed my appointment and that

Great service, super nice staff, a great atmosphere, knowledgeable and awesome. I will be back, Jen gave me a quick awesome haircut that I love, at the very last minute as a walk in, and tons of advice on how to keep my hair healthy and looking gorgeous.

Incredible work!! Bianca was my hairstylist and took my extremely long, dirty blond hair and transformed it to a beautiful white blond, shoulder length hairstyle. She was excited about me donating my hair to cancer, and knew exactly how to cut it for that reason. Everyone was super nice while booking my appointment, Bianca was extremely professional, and their prices were more than reasonable. Picked this salon for it's positive reviews, and they surely lived up to the hype. :)

This place is fantastic! I love going here! Great stylist, great atmosphere (not super sheeshi but not a dive either) and really good prices! (for what you get)
Now before I go on about the joys of Scruples. I have to tell a little backstory of my haircut journey...
I used to go to the typical strip mall barbers. Now, for years it was fine but eventually I started to realize that no matter how I asked the barbers to cut my hair, they would always cut it exactly the same! They take out those sheep sheering devices and buzz away. Never even touching a pair of scissors! Most dogs get better haircuts

I used to be the same way.
But let's face it, with the state of haircuts in Calgary today, you're going to be paying no less than $15-20 for any joe-schmoe barber you find in the city anyway.
Why not pay $20 at Scruples, get your hair cut by a trained professional (so that it ALWAYS looks good) and have your scalp massaged/shampooed while you're at it?
