For the price, it's a nice room. But the room was cold, there was also brown stuff coming out of the shower. Honestly speaking the rooms need a proper update. Like new windows, new beds and frames, maybe a microwave, etc..

Pros: The room was clean and the bathroom was recently equipped. Hot showers.
Cons: The bed was kind of lumpy. The carpets in the hallway were pretty threadbare.
Friendly staff though! I definitely appreciated being able to sleep after a long drive. Thanks!

Nice room according to price, except the bed. It was so saggy and uncomfortable that I woke up with back and neck pain. But the reason I gave only 2 star is the noisy environment. I could not sleep in peace because of noises until morning. Management should improve silence, at least after 10pm to 6 am...

The location is convenient, the bed was comfortable and room was clean.
However, hotel is very dated. There was no hot water, the toilet room was ice cold.
There should also be a way to control the temperature of the rooms better as they were very hot and stuffy.

This was an excellent place to stay in Jasper, you are within walking distance to so many great stores and restaurants. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The hotel has an awesome history and family owned. Rooms are super charming and comfortable. They are even pet friendly so I was able to have my doggo stay with me in my room. I highly recommend this hotel 👍

This was our favorite place in Jasper to stay….. and still is. After months of not travelling & two (2) weeks on the road the Astoria still has the most comfortable & cozy beds in Highway 16. And the cleanest room. Simple pleasant and good value. With the breakfast place Papa George's off the lobby it’s such a pleasant homey place to stay. Staff are great too.
We Highly recommend a night (or two) at the Astoria when in Jasper.

Thanks for the hospitality.

The Astoria delivered everything as advertised. Excellent little room for the value and location. Our son stayed the same weekend in a pet friendly room and it was even better. First time at this hotel and we will be back. Wish the vending machines were operational but that's not enough of a drag to bump my review down. Thank you Astoria.

We booked our stay a month ago and we booked a 2 double bed room as we had 2 adults and 1 teenager. When we arrived our room wasn't cleaned so we had to wait. And we got a 1 double bed. No accommodations for my son. We asked for a cot or foamy to sleep on and they said it wasn't available. We had no other place to go and it was already past dinner time. My son slept on a hard wood floor. We took off our comforter of the bed for him. We actually said we wouldn't be back not just the hotel but the city. Poor costumer service.
I work in costumer service and never would I treat a paying costumer this

Staff was friendly, however the room was extremely tiny. So small that the sink didn’t even fit in the bathroom. However if you prefer to wash your hands while laying in the very saggy bed you’ll love it!!
If you’re not claustrophobic you’ll also like the cozy stand up shower which perks you up with frequent blasts of cold water. On the positive side, the hotel is in a great location so we didn’t need to spend much time in the room.
All in all it would be charming as a budget hostel but a bit of a let down at $250.00

Truly a super cute hotel! The room was cute and had everything we needed! Sure the king bed is 2 twin beds pushed together but you can’t even tell , it’s super comfy!
Showers are a little bit small As well, but honestly it’s not that bad! We managed to fit 2 of us in it with no problem lol
You’re right in the middle of jasper Main Street and are walking distance to pretty much anything!! Which is a bonus!
I highly recommend this place! 😊

While it has a great location on the Main Street going for it, it is way overpriced given the noise level in the room (next door, 8 feet away, is the pizza place's roof top patio which entertained until after midnight on a Sunday night of all things). And the "free" WiFi is unreliable at best and then extremely slow to the point of being unusable even when you are sitting in the lobby.

In short, not worth the price....

Positive: this hotel is affordable and the location is perfect, in the city center and easy to around. There's a couple of big public car parks opposite the hotel and at the back that is free. The room is clean and equipped with basic necessities: coffee maker, toiletries including make up remover (a big plus). We really love the big comfy bed too.
Negative: the whole structure of the hotel is wood so we could hear people walking, going in and out their rooms, talking etc. it's really hard to have a good night sleep.

This hotel had its hay day in the early 90s, as can been seen by the pastel decor, and has been trying to relive those days ever since. I would describe it as like staying in your grandparents extremely tiny basement suite. I'm a size small and I barely fit in the shower. The bed might be one of the hardest most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in and I'm pretty sure they have a plastic like cover over the pillows inside the cases. BUT, I gave it a second star because at least it was clean. If you're ever in Jasper without other options like we were, it'll do.

This hotel was WAY overpriced for the value and condition of the place. I was given a room with a window that looked onto a rooftop between two portions of the building that had a garden of sorts on top of it. The point being that the rooftop seemed to be accessible by someone from somewhere. That made the fact that the window in my room would not lock a bit concerning. The screen to the window was torn as well. When I turned the light on in the bathroom a hideously loud "barking" noise came out of the combination light/fan that was unbearable. I had to use the bathroom without the light

What a cute, quaint little hotel. Is it in need of an update? Sure. But you know what? It was a nice place to stay for the night and conveniently located on the main street.
I stayed in a miniature room with 2 twin beds, and the bathroom was like a little toilet closet with a shower that I was taller than - but you know what? I wasn't expecting the Ritz. The bed was comfortable enough, and the restaurant downstairs had a great $8.50 breakfast special (but in case you want a bit more, there is a Smitty's around the corner where you can get pancakes!)
The staff was very friendly. I loved

To start off, let me just say that this has been the most dreadful stay for me by far. For $200 a night, I expected something more than an old, outdated TV and coffee maker. The bathroom was very small, with the washroom door centimeters away from hitting the toilet. In the hotel's defense of its old furniture and appliances, they said that most of their guests come to their hotel to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. However, in the standard rooms, you see typical trees that you can see outside of the hotel. Not to mention the fact that the bulky air conditoner made it difficult to get to

Wow, can't believe that for the price I paid I heard trains starting at 3 am almost every hour until dawn. On top of that I picked off two bed bugs - one on my pillow and the other running across the sheet on my wife's side. I tried to snag it before she woke but that didn't happen. Best advice to myself, don't stay there ever again even if it means camping in the dead of winter.

Super cute hotel! Our room was tiny (and $225 because of the long weekend plus Tour of Alberta) but very clean and charming.
It's located right in the middle of the main street, so everything is nearby! So many restaurants & bars, and of course the souveneir shops!
Our sleep was great, but in the morning the housekeeping staff were hanging out right in front of door and chatting up a storm. Woke us up & kept us up, but that's probably a good thing because we had to hit the road early!
I am hoping the price was jacked up because of all the things going on, because if $225 is

I think most of the people complaining about the cost of the Astoria Hotel didn't get as good a deal as I did. After some intense searching, my friend found a deal on Hotels.com that worked out to a mere $88/night after all the taxes were applied. For that price I definitely think we got our money's worth. That being said, I wouldn't be pleased if I had paid full-price.

Pros:
-Right in the heart of Jasper, a quick walk from all the main restaurants and bars in town
-Clean, cozy, and comfortable. This hotel is nothing fancy but it was definitely welcoming (albeit the decor was very

I booked two rooms for two nights. Our room was ok, since the portable AC kept the temperature tolerable and masked the noise from downstairs (a bar, a pizza joint, a busy sidewalk, etc). But it took a few hours each night to get lulled to sleep by the loud roaring from the portable AC three feet away from the bed.

The double bed was more like a twin, but everything in our room was pretty clean except the carpets that had been through a couple world wars. Shower was great, but the bathroom was about the size of a tight little coat closet. OK for me as my wife and I are not large persons.

This place is down right terrible. We got to Jasper in the wee hour of the night so didn't have much time hotel shopping.
The Stairs are squeaky and not designed for a lot of use. The room is unpleasant and the washroom was so bad I had to wear slippers in the shower!!
WiFi is free which is good. There is a pub downstairs which serves decent wings and a breakfast, The parking is across the street and feels unsafe. I would not recommend this place. Prices are inline with other spots in Jasper (high
