If your marriage or couples relationship has become a struggle, or you're concerned it could be taking a turn for the worse and aren't sure what to do about it, couples counselling is your best option. Every marriage, every relationship has its ups and downs.

But when it feels like the problems are overwhelming - or when you won personal boundaries or the relationship itself seems at risk - caring, confidential counselling can make all the difference.Words can't express my gratitude to all the help you provided, you are a difference maker. We may not be able to erase the past but we can say "I am sorry, I love you, will you forgive me".
Services
Dr Ottawa holds a Master's Degree, a Doctorate Degree in counselling. Founding New Start Counselling in 1994, she specializes in marriage and couples counselling, relationship and family therapy.
Even when your relationship feels broken, unrepairable and beyond hope, you should know there's often a good chance you can avoid the worst and make your situation better. Maybe even much better. One thing is certain, however, when faced with the looming prospect of separation or divorce, doing nothing is almost NEVER a good choice.
Extended and Intensive sessions help us to put aside all of life's distractions so that we can focus our complete attention on the relationship and its well-being. These extended longer therapy sessions can involve two or more hours on a single day or on multiple days.

Once you have completed at least one extended session, future sessions can be a standard 75 minute to 90 minute duration or you may continue these extended sessions until the situation is fully resolved. These longer sessions must be booked by phone. Please Call to book your extended session, 780-991-5117 and watch your relationship transform.
Dealing with infidelity is never easy - it is one of the most difficult challenges to any relationship. Many of your deepest questions can only be answered by the partner who has had the affair. Yet, the one who has the affair often finds openness difficult, and he or she can be overwhelmed by the shame and the profound hurt that they see they have caused in their partner's eyes.
If communication with your partner has become difficult, or even non-existent, it's understandable to feel overwhelmed and frustrated. When this happens, resentment, anger, hurt and loss can deepen, along with a sense of disconnection and feeling misunderstood. The longer the concerns sit unaddressed, the more difficult the relationship becomes.

My husband and I took pre-marriage counselling sessions with Dr. Ottawa Easingwood. The sessions sparked some much needed conversations between my husband and I during and well after our sessions had ended. I am really happy we had the opportunity to go to pre-marriage counselling and am so thankful for all of the hard work, time and energy that went into the sessions even before we had arrived! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but Dr. Easingwood and the sessions she had prepared were so well thought out and very informative. I would highly recommend Dr. Easingwood to any couple who is looking for

My husband and I took a series of 'marriage enhancement' classes as I'd like to refer to them as. We both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Dr.Ottawa has a calm, even-keeled demeanor which made the two of us very comfortable. There was always an unspoken invitation for open conversation. Her professional advice was practical and easy for us to put in motion. She gave us literature/resources to fall back on years down the road. I feel we walked away with an invaluable experience. I would strongly recommend Dr.Ottawa to my family and close friends so I would recommend her to YOU as well!

Dr. Easingwood is a Psychotherapist - NOT A REGISTERED PSYCHOLOGIST. Most benefits will NOT cover the expensive cost of her short 50 minute consult. I did get a couple things out of the session but every time I confessed a deeper marital concern, she suggested a more qualified specialist or just dodged the issue. Definitely disappointed and unsatisfied.
