Although Kingsway has/had its reputation, my family and I had a lovely holiday long ago. It's a tragic shame that we're unable to go back with all of the pandemic era restrictions.
At least I have the warm memories of staying in a modest, yet comfortable motel with nearby Asian eateries, Safeway, the liquor store, Tim Hortons, and a sleepy bar nearby. There's even a slight tinge of nostalgia in seeing the occasional streetwalker in thigh high boots at night in the NW drizzle. ❤️😔💔
Thanks Canada! 🇨🇦🍁

My stay at the CASSANDRA HOTEL was wonderful. Handra and Hader are excellent hostess and host. My room was very quiet and spacious with a spectacular viewof the snow capped north shore mountains. The CASSANDRA HOTEL is centrally located and convenient to the Vancouver city center.

Old, worn out. Doors do not close properly. Front desk person is nasty. They will not give you an extra coffee pod for the machine in the room and you are not allowed more than two sugar packets. Bathroom walls are all stained. Bed is pretty good and floor in my main room is new. Vending machine on second floor is turned off and empty. They change the wifi password every two days. Only staying here because work used points. Never again!!!

Check in took over two hours & they changed our room and placed us next to the main door and elevator super noisy. I walked both mornings to seven eleven for coffee as there was none offered at the hotel. to top it off it's not wheelchair accessible

In a prime location like Vancouver you would expect all of the good hotels to be booked and that is true so this hotel was the only option. I knew that it would be bad from the reviews but not as bad as it turned out to be. In the lobby, there were day old cookies and an empty coffee maker. The problem with having cookies open to the public is that drunk homeless women will walk in and steal the platter. The halls were filled with cigarette buns and people smoking. The room was filled with mold and the window was broken. Honestly, I would rather stay in a landfill. If you could rate this hotel

Okay. Here we go. THIS IS THE WORST. NEVER COME HERE. They take a $200 security deposit, which was more than our room. The hotel is sketchy and gross. Even smells weird. Only one phone is allowed wifi. I repeat, only ONE person is allowed on the wifi. So choose wisely. The receptionist lady is awful. Called her to get help with the wifi, and after an approximate 20 seconds of stuttering she goes "I'll call you back" and hung up. Guess what? Never called back. This place is a joke.

Unfortunately every bad comment here is true. The room was filthy and doesn't make sense. We didn't recieve bath towels and there was no one in the front desk to ask for them. When we checked out, the gal accused us of stealing them but we never had any in the beginning! The receptionist assured that she would notify the cleaning staff about it but it's a bit late seeing as though we were checking out. And when you check out and give them your card key, there's no way to go back in the the parking garage because you need your card key. Very stupid lay out. We OVERPAID and were

You should avoid the Cassandra "Hotel" at any price. This motel is overpriced at $57, let alone the exploitive $309 per night recently charged. The owners have grossly misrepresented this dump on Expedia and on their website. Don't be fooled.

This place isn't worth one star. I can't believe there are any good reviews of this shack. It smells. It's dirty. It's old. The towels are tiny and threadbare. They give you one roll of toilet paper. Total. You have to ask for another one! This is on our second day after the maids "cleaned." The cable remote doesn't work the TV so for on/off and volume you have to get up. There are no comforters on the beds, just a threadbare blanket between two top sheets! The carpet is gross and stained. There's a spider in the corner of the bathroom. I have found my limit

The only reason this hotel is getting one star is because of how helpful the staff were and how good the water pressure in the shower was.

First impressions count. The hotel was so run down and needed so much maintenance that it's not even funny. As you walk in the lobby and see the vinyl peeling off the couch in the lobby, you could only imagine what the rest of the place was like. Window sills rusting and paint peeling off, iron burn marks in the carpet, a cigarette burn in the blankets, dirty walls, dirty lamp shades and dirty doors. Even when something got dropped under the bed you realise

Been to this hotel two years in a row, and probably a third.

Staff - friendly and courteous.

Room - rather large for the price, loved the microwave and mini-fridge. Bed was comfy and the TV got American channels (weird watching a channel from Georgia (USA) in Canada) and major Canadian channels.

Bathroom: OLD! Really could use a remodeling or at least a good old-fashioned scrubbing. If this is a deal breaker for you then I'd move along.

Continental Breakfast - Don't know, never had it as I usually pack enough power bars and make coffee in the room.

Surrounding area - A lot of food

PROS:
clean where it matters (linens and bathroom)
gorgeous view of the mountains
decent location
the staff makes it all worthwhile

CONS:
older hotel
worn-out fixtures and appliances
clean, but not spotless, a few holes in the walls here and there
various little things not worth listing

Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Stayed for 4 nights, purchased 3 day wireless internet for $15 and gave an extra day for free. If it's raining, they have umbrellas you can borrow. Continental breakfast doesn't have a dining area since it's being renovated so they give you juice and pastries in a bag. After the first time, you get an idea of what you like, and they had no problem giving my preferred breakfast pastry or more than one. Work out area is a bit pitiful since most of the equipment doesn't not work properly. It's within walking distance of the sky train
