The location could not get any better. The rooms were clean and decent. Its a little bit strange to be staying in a hotel where people are also living there through rentals. You need your access key just to open the front door and everyone will look away if you don't have it. Other than that it was good.

Horrible customer service. When i tried to modify a reservation and get reimbursed for an extra night that i was not staying for, the staff and management at Carmana Plaza refused to refund me. Instead, they pocketed the money even though I left one night earlier. They also refused to give me extra shampoo and towels and said their housekeeping is closed (i called at 9 p.m.) i dont understand how a hotel doesnt have basic necessities available. I come to vancouver every quarter rest assured will not be returning ever again.

Absolutely wonderful hotel that definitely could be used for a long-term stay. Rooms, really apts, were spacious, spotless, and well appointed. Also had a room with a king and another bedroom with two twins, very convenient for families. Full kitchen, huge living room, and a great balcony. Great parking in a very friendly staff. And most importantly, fabulous bathrooms. Will definitely return and hope to stay longer! Great value.

When I worked in corporate this was our go to place. My fiancé and I work alot, I'm a nurse and she works in mental health. We haven't been able to go far to unwind and chose the weekend in Vancouver. Rates are good for summer and your not renting a room. This place is a full 1 bedroom apartment and worth every penny. Very clean, friendly staff at check in. The only things I didn't like are we are in the 7th floor and I was spoiled before being on a high floor. Also the parking cost is extremely high at $48 per night. Otherwise it's great and she loves it.

This hotel is gorgeous, no doubt there. We stayed in a suite that's like a perfect little condo! The only issue I had was the cleaning. The bathroom was not immaculate and the bedroom was very dusty. Other than that, the location is awesome and the overall experience was great. Staff was very friendly!

Awesome staff, clean and excellent room with great views and close to Robson so everything was walking distance. You have Tim's and A&W next door. Kind of a busy street because the location is central. Just a little warning, if you have an oversize vehicle you might not fit in the undergroud parking (clearance is 6'5" I believe). Street parking can be challenging but none the less it was a great hotel with a reasoble price for Vancouver downtown!

The hotel staff was super friendly. The hotel room was super nice and spacious (had a suite including a full kitchen). Great location to walk just about anywhere interesting in downtown, with underground parking available to tuck your car away for your stay. Just across the street is a Starbucks and Urban Fare, with Robson St only a block and a half away. Just make sure if you don't want staff entering your room to vocalize this in case there are any misunderstandings. The do not disturb sign is not enough.

Wait till you here this. I have stayed hundreds of hotels in my life I'm 50 years old

Everything was fine at this hotel until I went to check out for some reason the front desk person said we had to inspect the room and I asked her why I needed to go for my flight and she said it's a random check we're doing it for you to make sure you didn't forget anything I said I didn't I need to go they made me wait to check out.

KAREN Who claims she was the front desk manager said it was part of their policy I asked to see this policy she had nothing to show me said it was

While travelling across Canada I usually only review restaurants in an attempt to help other travellers finds a great place to eat or one to avoid. I recently stayed at the Carmana Plaza and once again I was reminded why I quite often chose this hotel over other more pricy hotels. So it doesn't have a rewards program, but the location and size of their rooms/suite makes up for the lack of rewards. Their junior executive suite is a full one bedroom suite with a living room, full kitchen, even an office within your suite. Priced right & centrally located this makes this hotel one of my favourites

Carmana Plaza is not your traditional hotel and it shows almost the moment you walk in. I arrived in the late evening on a weekday, so I did not expect a lot of staff at the door. However, once I got to the front desk, I began the checking in process which was quick. However, when time came to head up to my room, there was no offer of anyone helping me with my bags. I normally don't ask for anyone to help, but it was a bit jarring that the offer was not even made.

In another oddity, this hotel (in a fairly modern looking building) gives you a physical key. No, not a card key, a metal

This is where I will be staying if ever I'm in Vancouver. From the location, staff, quality of accommodation, value and cleanliness, it's hard to beat. I am a clean freak and I honestly couldn't find anywhere they'd neglected.

The lobby has a security guard, and you'd need a security card to access your floor. The room is accessed by a key. I prefer keys because I've had too many experiences were key cards stop working.

Ample parking in the basement, although this parking is also used by the public.

Room had a large living area, dining area, separate office

I have been staying at this hotel for the past week and the internet, when it works, is as slow as dial up. TERRIBLE place to stay if you are trying to conduct business. I am writing this review from across the street at The Keg. I have not been able to check my business emails or calendar.

Great location, really nice rooms and CHEAP but very poor front desk staff. We arrived and at check in we were greeted with disrespect and basically were threatened that if we were too loud we would be kicked and would not be eligible for a refund. We asked if we would be given a warning and they then said they would but they weren't required to.

We got to the room and I admit it was pretty awesome. We had a two bedroom suite which had a full kitchen (but virtually no utensils/cutlery...would be pretty challenging to prepare meals here), modern furniture, large HD TV and a good sized

Spent two nights at the Carmana. The price I found on-line was quite good, especially given the space -- bedroom, living room, kitchenette + dining area. Clean, quiet, spacious. Kitchen wasn't particularly well equipped but we didn't cook so it didn't matter. Folks at the front desk were friendly, helpful. My only complaint was the wi-fi. Worked great part of the time, was not so great at other times. Not sure what was going on there. Will probably stay there again on my next visit to Vancouver. Great location, lots of room (basically an apartment) for less than the price of

We (me and two couples) stayed in one of the two-bedroom suites. The price isn't great, so I was expecting a bit of a luxury stay.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a none-too-pleased manager who instantly judged me and my friends by our age. We were told multiple times not to throw a party, warned that if we broke anything we'd be charged for it, and threatened with security if we did not follow the rules. What the hell?

It was extremely rude and unprofessional to assume that my friends and I are irresponsible based solely on our age and/or appearances. We are all young professionals

~$110 CAN/day corporate rate.

Units have kitchen w/dishwasher, dishwasher about 20y old. Pots/Pans and Normal cycle don't work. Light wash works.

Kitchen poorly equipped. Difficult to cook in. Lack cleaning supplies for washing dishes such as scrubbers for dishes; they have dishwashing soap. They provide 2 knives, a bread knife and paring knife.

No way to cut meat or vegetables for prep.

No French knife for cutting b/c they say it is a safety hazard. No salt/pepper provided b/c they say the law disallows it b/c it competes with restaurants. No serving dishes or utensils provided

This was a great place to stay at. We rented one of their suite units and it had an incredible view of downtown vancouver.

The hotel was also very conveniently located to many restaurants shops and tourist attractions.

My only complaint was the lack of Pool or Jacuzzi.

If I ever come back to Vancouver (Which I probably will) I will make sure to stay here again.

What a great place! Centrally located to everything. Very easy to get to/from. Friendly staff and very secure environment. Stayed in the standard queen suite, which was more like a 1br apartment. Nice open living/dining room with dining table, couch, and coffee table and full kitchen. Great balcony with amazing view of the city. There are no buildings higher than 4-6 stories on the south side so the view is amazing. Very clean. Highly highly recommend.

Overall, I liked my stay at the Carmana. The price isn't awesome, but it's a better deal than a hotel room.

Pros:
-great location: so close to shopping, restraunts, banks, grocery stores
-spacious!
-friendly staff

Cons:
-parking: Their garage is hard to find and you have to circle down and down and down before you hit the hotel's parking area (they share with other businesses)
-elevators: sooooo slow! They have 3 different sizes too. You never know which one you get. Sometimes you have to wait and wait for one that will work for you.

Next time I visit Vancouver, I'll consider
