Don Head Village Animal Clinic
Owning a pet is about sharing your life. It's about creating an unbreakable bond. It's about experiencing a friendship unlike any other. It is worthy of the strongest, most capable protection there is. That is why we exist. We believe you and your pet deserve something truly special - both in the level of medicine practiced and in the way a team supports you.

We've worked tirelessly to carefully build an environment where you can feel safe, supported, and like family. There's a deeper level of connection and care that you are about to experience. And we believe you deserve no less. We believe in order to provide you with truly exceptional veterinary care, we must be focused on the future.
Services
The best way to achieve this goal is to make a commitment to ongoing wellness care. Because animals age at a much faster rate than we do, we recommend bringing your pet in for a thorough physical exam and comprehensive wellness check at least once a year. This allows us to both measure your companion's current health, and to monitor it for any changes over time.
Dr. Enna Hughes Dr. Enna has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was very young. Enna graduated from the University of Guelph Ontario Veterinary College in 1998. She also has an Honours Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on Nutritional Sciences. Enna feels that continuing education - staying current and new treatments, techniques and developing medicine - is vital to being able to provide appropriate veterinary care.
Amanda Amanda has always loved animals and was a client at the clinic for five years before she joined our staff as a client-patient coordinator. She has been with us since early 2010. After leaving to finish her professional education and working in business management, Amanda realized that she is most happy and fulfilled working with her four-legged friends and their owners.
Please allow 3 business days for your refill request to be reviewed, filled and we will call as soon as it is available for pick-up. If for some reason we cannot process the refill, someone from our staff will contact you. For safety, we review your pet's records before refilling any orders.

It would help our Doctors to know if there have been any changes in your pet's health or behaviour since the last re-fill; or if you have any questions for us.
Here at Don Head Village Animal Clinic, our goal is to understand your pet's needs and provide accurate guidance and advice. Whether you have concerns from puppy and kitten advice to behavioural and dietary consults to end of life discussions, we can help. Determining the urgency of a situation and deciding whether your pet requires immediate care is something you shouldn't have to do alone.

DO NOT ENTRUST YOUR PETS IN THE CARE OF THIS CLINIC. The way they handled the passing of my sweet angel was the worst experience I have ever gone through. I am not going to relive the entire experience but in an emergency situation they did not allow me to be with her during her passing (they could have put her down outside so my child and I could have held her) the lady who came out to get her was tapping her foot and looking at her watch, rushing me to hand her over. They overcharged me. They were rude and ignorant. They do not care about animal welfare or their patients. They took advantage

I wish I could give negative stars. they wasted my time with their too restrictive policies. they wouldn't let me see how they interacted with my 2 cats. they don't want me to come into the clinic. why? maybe because they are treating the poor animals badly. but I'd never know because no one is allowed to set foot inside. they didn't even apologize for wasting my time. clearly they don't need my money.

For several different reasons we are no longer satisfied with this clinic for our pets. We won’t be coming back.
P.S. With respect to the parking:
Since we have been coming parking has been and is always the same. Quite a lot of parking available, more than most clinics. Even years ago there were times when spaces were available, and a lot of times when spaces all full, we would have to go on a driving tour, with our pets uncomfortable in the car, and there were plenty of times when we would go in and it would be overpacked, chaos with all the dogs and cats, long waiting periods, and a line

We have been bringing our new puppy and older cat here for some time now. Staff is always pleasant and strive to keep you updated on whats happening with your pets. Couldn't reccomend them more when providing care for your furry friends. With COVID protocols and everyone buying 2nd and 3rd pets, wait times are a little longer than usual but its worth it for premium care.

I had to have my cat of 23 years euthanized. The process although painful was done with incredible delicacy and compassion. The nurses and vet were amazing.
Their process allows for all the time necessary to say goodbye in a peaceful environment. This really aids in the mourning process.
Im very grateful to them for allowing my cat’s last moments to be tranquil and beautiful. They made sure that she could feel loved and safe before the end.
Thank you not only for my cat but for me and my mother as well.

From what I can tell they are very good vets, my big beef is the tiny parking lot. There are less than 10 spots and if they are all full then you are screwed. There is an overly large back yard for dogs I suppose, but it could be smaller, allowing more space for a couple more parking spots.
Again, they are good vets, with reasonable prices.

We have been bringing our dog here for around 7 months now. They are hands down one of the best vet clinics we have ever been to. The staff respond same-day to emails with helpful and caring answers. You can tell they really care about animals here.
It’s a tad on the pricier side but worth it for the level of customer service.
If I had one complaint, it would be the phone system. There isn’t an automatic hold system and unfortunately they don’t allow people in either so you may have call upwards of 20 times before you get someone on the phone. Would be nice to see this updated so I can

Without question one of the most caring clinics I have experienced. We had two pups that we brought to the clinic 11 and 12 years ago respectively. They received the best care I could imagine. If there is a concern about cost - just ask them and they will explain things in detail for you. When we had to say goodbye to both of our pups it was done with such compassion. Even the staff was in tears. The note they sent a few weeks later helped so much during the grieving process. We now have a new pup and without question we are back at the clinic. Love love love this place.

Ive been with Don head animal clinic for about eleven years. Their fee's are reasonable and fair. My choice of breed is Rottweiler. I'm always impressed how they handle my boy. Would definitely recommend.

Dr Hughes is very professional. We are first time pup parents. She made us feel relieved. Her team are very nice over the phone as well as in person. Very responsive. Please keep up the great work! :)
