CBT looks at the roles that Thoughts, Emotions and Actions have in our life problems. On the actions side, CBT involves identifying specific activities likely to be helpful in overcoming a problem. Sometimes this involves lifestyle changes, such as physical exercise, sleep scheduling, dietary management, and goal-setting.
Most people with a mood problem can be treated very effectively. 80-90 per cent of people with a Unipolar Depression or Bipolar/Manic Depression can be successfully treated. However, the stigma associated with the illness means only about one third will seek help. Depression is a mood state that is characterized by significantly lowered mood and a loss of interest or pleasure in activities that are normally enjoyable.
Sex is not inherently addictive, but if you are avoiding your life problems or emotionally intimate relationships by engaging in compulsive sexual behaviours you may have a sexual addiction. Sexual addiction is any sexually-related, compulsive behaviour which interferes with normal living and causes severe stress on yourself, your family, friends, loved ones, or your work environment.
