Dr. Kostantina Abate graduated from NYU College of Dentistry in New York City. Having been chosen into the Honours in Aesthetics program in her final year, she graduated with a clinical concentration in cosmetic dentistry. She is currently a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), and is working towards her accreditation.

I have not been recently but an update from having been a patient a few years ago. Following a dental cleaning which was both uncomfortable and bloody (never had this happen at any other dental cleaning prior to and after that experience), 1 tooth fractured requiring me to come back for a root canal. Years later, I find out that I have to retreat the tooth with the root canal. My teeth have never been the same after that experience. My mother had a similar experience following a cleaning there, she developed a severe dental abscess and infection and was on antibiotics for an extended period of

Just started visiting Portrait Dental last month and the staff, assistants and dentist are very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The office is very clean and bright, and the massage chairs and large tv's are a nice touch too :) Afterwork hours are a huge plus. It's nice to look forward to going to the dentist!

Worst dentist clinic I have ever been to. when referred to Portrait dental I was assigned a dentist, she went on a leave and they assigned me a different dentist without my knowledge. Every time I'd come a different dentist would see me and give me different instructions, and would send me to doing different procedures. One dentist said I had a cavity on my wisdom teeth, the other dentist said no. The same dentist said I had another 2 cavities that needed to be treated, I booked the appointment for the two but she could only do one at the time and said she didn't have time to do the second one

I’m so happy I found Portrait Dental. I’ve been terrified of the dentist my entire life, I avoided going for years. Their entire team put me at ease. They made me feel so comfortable and didn’t shame me for having cavities (like the last dentist I went to a few years ago) they were all so sweet and made sure I was ok every step of the way. I had been avoiding the dentist for years and was really fearful of going due to previous negative experiences. From the moment I stepped into Portrait Dental, I was immediately comfortable. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful, and my hygienist, Peggy, is pretty much my favourite person. The first time I went she walked me through everything because of how nervous I was and explained as she went. I continue to see her and she is by far the best hygienist I’ve ever had. Dr Kerbel is funny and down to earth and also made me feel super comfortable when I had to get my first cavity filled

I would highly discourage anyone from considering Portrait Dental. I booked with them based on location and online reviews, but will not be back. I highly recommend coming here! I was referred by a friend and since it was my first time coming to the dentist in quite some time, I was VERY nervous. Literally every single person was so welcoming and kind and made the entire experience so great.

The Dentist is great, administrative staff on the other had is just awful! My first visit was great the place is clean, staff seemed nice. I quickly learned how DISORGANIZED the staff is. I've experienced multiple incidents that have me and my partner looking for a new Dentist.

My recall appointment was very bad. Due to traffic, I knew I was going to be 10 minutes late, so I called in advance to let them know. When I arrived, the receptionist told me to wait for 10-15 minutes - OK, fine because I was late. But, I ended up waiting for 45 minutes!
I mean - I did call to let them know about the 10 minutes late. It's not like I would not show up for the appointment. Not sure why I had to wait that long while the time was supposed to be reserved for me.

Great service at Portrait Dental from start to finish. I hate going to the dentist in general but I don't mind visiting this very professional practice with a great welcoming staff and very capable hygienists and dentists. Brittney does a fantastic job with cleaning and causes very little pain. Highly recommend!

I started going to Portrait dental about a year ago and this is probably the best dental office I've ever been to. Really knowledgable and patient staff. The hygienists take their time with you to explain everything that's going on, and Dr Kosta is absolutely amazing. Have never felt looked after with such care by a dental practice.
Also, the back room when you get your dental exam done is unbelievable - very cool decor and giant screen TV for entertainment and then to walk you through your x-rays!

Portrait is the nicest and most pleasant dental office I've been to in toronto, aside for the office being super clean the staff are on point from the front desk staff, to the hygienist Arieanne who was aside for being super nice, she cleaned my teeth better then they ever have been by anyone.

Gorgeous office and very flexible hours. The dentist I saw was competent and friendly, although any questions I had were snobbishly dismissed. Would liked to have had meaningful conversations, not just pushed through procedures without any discussions. Still, it was better than the hygienist, who kept dishing out insults about me, while doing a really unprofessional cleaning. Will definitely be finding a new place.

I got an appointment for a consultation really quickly and they put together an entire treatment plan that we got pretty much all done in less than 3 months before my benefits ran out. They were always courteous and mindful of my needs. They even work after regular business hours to accommodate everyone's schedules! Would be cool if the dentist rooms were more warm welcoming toned than bright white/grey with some meditative music and to slow things down a bit at the start instead of getting into the chair and going. My own fault for not asking for more time to calm myself. I've had cleanings

Every time I have gone to this dentist I've left so unhappy. On two different occasions.. I went in to follow up on work Dr. Gabay had done during my previous visit and he tells me there aren't any notes on my file of him doing specific work, therefore "he did not do it". Every time he makes sarcastic remarks and tries to make me seem crazy. So unprofessional! How can you forget to make proper notes on a patients file, charge them for it, then tell them you never did the work?? This place is such a joke. I will never go here again!
